BORDELON

DESTREHAN – Thomas “Dale” Bordelon, 46, a former resident of Big Bend and resident of Destrehan for 26 years, died July 23. He was the husband of Kim Ayme Bordelon and father of Trevor and Ashleigh Bordelon.He was the son of Betty Dupont Bordelon Toler and the late Walter “P-dot” Bordelon Sr., stepson of Edward “Earl” Toler and the late Thomas “Tate” Ayme and brother of Walter “June” Bordelon Jr.He is survived by one grandchild.He was an employee of Shell Chemical Company for 23 years.Services were July 26 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.BROOKS
KENNER – George Brooks, 87, a native of Edgard and resident of Metairie, died July 22. He was the husband of Golda Washington Brooks and father of Catherine Breaux, Edward Parker and Willie and Curtis Brooks.He was the brother of Gloria Johnson and Roger Brooks.He is survived by 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.He was a U.S. Army staff sergeant and received the Purple Heart.Services were July 26 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Kenner, with interment at Providence Park.CANTILLO
GRAMERCY – James Earl Cantillo, 69, a native of Lutcher and resident of Gramercy, died July 24. He was the husband of the late Avis Cornborough Cantillo and father of Christine, James, Michael and Steven Cantillo.He was the son of the late Anthony and Lucy Mancuso Cantillo and brother of Anthony Jr., Lebo, Victor and Rocky Cantillo.He is survived by six grandchildren.He was retired from Colonial Sugar Refinery.Services were July 26 at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.HENDERS0N
LUTCHER – Louis “Husky” Henderson Jr., 89, a native and resident of Lutcher, died July 25. He was the husband of the late Laurel W. Henderson, and father of Octavia Manuel, Doretha Storks, Maria Storks, Diane Hayes and Dwight Hayes.He is survived by three grandchildren.He was a former employee of Colonial Sugar Refinery and a former U.S. Army sergeant and veteran of World War II.Services were July 27 at St. Joe Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Western Cemetery, Lutcher.KELLY
RESERVE – Kier D. Kelly, 31, a native and resident of LaPlace, died July 23. He was the son of Junior Kelly and the late Leona Kelly Mott and brother of Kerion, Erica, Nyiah and Tiaj Kelly.Be was the grandchild of Helen Kelly and the late Henritta Green.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at Providence Cemetery, LaPlace. EDGARD – Evelyn Lumar, 79, a native and resident of Edgard, died July 24. She was the mother of Edna Sylvain and Loritta and Tyronne Lumar.She was the daughter of the late Whitney and Amelia Mitchell Lumar and sister of Beatrice Edwards, Helen Hilaire and Edna, Sterling and the late Camille, Ceola and Lawrence Lumar.She is survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. LAPLACE – Donald J. Marino, 63, a native and resident of LaPlace, died July 24. He was the husband of Sheila A. Marino and father of Dawn Hernandez, Dacy Cashio and Donnell Marino.He was the son of the late Anthony and Florence Champagne Marino and brother of Daniel Marino and the late Azilda Washburn.He is survived by four grandchildren.He was a graduate of Leon Godchaux High School and a retired forklift operator for GATX in Good Hope.Services were July 27 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens.REMONDET
LAPLACE – David “Rem” Remondet, 53, a native of Reserve and resident of LaPlace for 29 years, died July 24. He was the husband of Patricia “Birdie” Brady Remondet and father of Angie Michel and Casey Lee Remondet.He was the son of Elma Vicknair Remondet and the late Claude Remondet Sr. and brother of Laura St. Martin, Cathy Wells and Michael Sr., Claude Jr., Gerald and Paul Remondet.Services were July 26 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.SORIANO
METAIRIE – Wanda Lee Soriano, 58, a native of Metairie and resident of LaPlace for 13 years, died July 26. She was the mother of Stephanie S. Richard and the late Gina Soriano.She was the daughter of the late Jerome and Jane Arliss and the sister of Theresa Bouvier.She is survived by two grandchildren.She was an employee of Bayou Steel for 16 years.Services are today at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie.
