Eveline T. Winters of LaPlace announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter, Wanita M. Winters, to Ashley R. Midkiff, son of Betty Caulder of LaPlace and Thomas Midkiff of West Hamlin, W.Va. The couple plan to marry Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at Norco First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hernandez officiating. A reception will follow at the American Legion Hall in Norco. The bride-elect is a graduate of East St. John High School and Louisiana Technical College. She is presently attending Tulane University, majoring in media arts. The prospective bridegroom is a graudate of Guyan Valley High School, West Hamlin, W.Va. and Louisiana Technical College.
