Kaston D. Anderson completed three weeks of basic military training and has been officially accepted into the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado Springs, Colo. Anderson, son of Fannie Anderson of Norco, is a 2000 graduate of Destrehan High School.BRISTER
Air Force Airman Jason P. Brister has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Brister, son of James Brister of LaPlace and brother of Chris Brister of Reserve, is a 2000 graduate of Riverside Academy.HOLLINS
Marine Corps Pfc. Timothy A. Hollins recently completed the administrative clerk course at personnel administration school, Marine Corps Service Support School at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Hollins, son of Timothy A. Hollins Sr. of LaPlace and Joyce Martin of Westwego, is a 2000 graduate of East St. John High School and joined the Marine Corps in June 2000.JOSEPH
Marine Corps Pvt. Travis G. Joseph recently reported for duty with First Battalion, Second Marine, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Joseph, son of Rennae Joseph of LaPlace and Isaac Joseph of New Orleans, is a 2000 graduate of East St. John High School.LAWRENCE
Army Pvt. Oscar J. Lawrence Jr. has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. Lawrence, son of Cynthia and Oscar Lawrence of Reserve, is a 1997 graduate of East St. John High School and a 1999 graduate of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, with an associate degree.LEWIS
Aurielle Lewis has joined the United States Army Reserve under the Delayed Entry program and will report to Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. for basic training. Lewis, daughter of Aaron and Michelle Lewis of Reserve, is a 2001 graduate of East St. John High School.McCLUNG
James A. McClung has joined the United States Army Reserve under the Delayed Training program and will report for basic training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. McClung is the son of Tommy and Joan McClung of Destrehan.TURNER
DJuan P. Turner has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry program and will report for basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Turner, son of Herman and Elizabeth Turner of LaPlace, is a 2000 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School.
