LAPLACE – Piano students of A.J.’s Music Unlimited,Inc. who are students of Allene Glynn performed sacred solos at the New Orleans Seminary. Students who participated were Matthew Weber, Ariel Gaines, Ashley Keller, Shari Gant, Claire Wingerter and Kristina Jack. Each performer was graded by one or two adjucators and students were judged on their technical skills – posture, rhythm, fingering, phrasing and proper wrist release, pedaling and dynamic-musical expressions. All the performers received a piano performance ribbon and 500 extra performer points from Glynn and certificates of musical achievement with superior ratings from the Louisiana Baptist Convention, which sponsors and organizes keyboard hymn festivals in Louisiana. Each festival encourages students to perform solos which feature their best musical abilities and enlighten their desire to become church musicians. Students who memorized their classical solos were Eric Anderson, Robby Carter, Elise Duhe’, Ariel Gaines, Breon Gaines, Marci Gauthreaux, Alicia Guillot, Ryan Guillot, Madison Hall, Elizabeth Heirsch, Robert Jumonville, Elizabeth Killinger, Erica Laitinen, Lindsey Marshall, Matthew Weber and T.J. Wise. Marci Gauthreaux received a composter bust of Mozart, which is given to students who memorize 10 or more songs. Following the students classical theme performance, performers received LYRE trophy awards and achievement certificates.
