Thursday was no different as Hahnville was kept to one hit until the fourth inning, when a nine-hit, nine-run massacre was laid at the feet of the opposing East Jefferson Warriors. The game was called in the fifth when Hahnville scored again, invoking the 10-run rule. East Jefferson did its best, holding off the Hahnville batting attack with consistent pitching by Jose Lado (6-2). The game began unraveling in the fourth inning when Jeff Williams led off with a single. Williams was driven home by an RBI double by Mike Picard. Then Matt Caire singled, advanced on a fielding error, and was in scoring position when the Tiger’s put the spurs to their scoring drive. Three bunts saw two Hahnville hits and an East Jefferson error. By the time the inning was over Hahnville had 14 hits and 9 runs. “We finally got our lead off hitter on, and we got some hits,” said Sims. “We bunted, and they made some mistakes, and we jumped on it.”
