The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) of East St. John High School attended the State Leadership conference recently in Baton Rouge. High school business students throughout Louisiana competed in subjects such as accounting I and II, word processing, public speaking, desktop publishing and web design. Only the top 10 in each category are recognized. The first and second place winners advance to National Conference. Dwight Alexis placed eighth in business English. Deanna Mattos placed eighth in her category. Treone Henry placed second in marketing. Bethany Condoll placed second in business procedures. Kendra Adams was elected District VII vice president earlier in the year. Henry, Condoll and Adams, along with sponsor Phyllis Johnson, will represent East St. John High and the state of Louisiana at the National Conference June 29 to July 2 in Orlando, Fla. This is the first time East St. John High has had two national winners and an officer going to the conference. The cost to attend the conference is $803 per person. If you would like to make a donation to help them attend, please contact the school.
