EDLER

ST. AMANT – Clinton J. “C.J.” Edler Jr., 57, a native of Lutcher and resident of Prairieville, died April 4. He was the husband of the late Linda Monroe Edler and father of Robin, Mindy and Debra Edler.He was also the son of the late Clinton Sr. and Mabel Madere Edler and brother of Marilyn Acosta, Janice McTopy and Hardy and Michael Edler.He is also survived by two grandchildren.Services are today at 9 a.m. in the chapel of Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, with interment at Holy Rosary Mausoleum, Gonzales. LAPLACE – Ceola J. “C” Nabor, 74, a native and resident of LaPlace, died April 2. She was the wife of the late Smith Nabor Sr., mother of Larry James, Smith Jr., Calvin Sr., Timmy, Ronald, Lonnie Sr., Jimmy and Donald Nabor Sr. and stepmother of Samuel Jones and the late Donnie Nabor.She was also the daughter of the late Peter Sr. and Beulah Hillary James and sister of Shirley Schnyder, Peter James Jr. and the late Ethel Johnson, Gussie Bell Joseph, Viola Staggers, Alma Sentimore, Thelma Wilson and Martin, Nolan and Leonard James.She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Rest Haven Cemetery, LaPlace. PAULINA – Jesse Joseph Ockman, 49, a native and resident of Lutcher, died April 1. He was the father of Tammy Wisinger.He was also the son of Sandy and Bertha Louque Ockman and brother of Sandra Cassagne.He is also survived by two grandchildren.Memorial services were April 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina.ROGERS
DECATUR, Texas – Richard D. Rogers, 76, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, and resident of Paradis, died April 2. He was the husband of Christine Rogers and father of Linda Fuller, Regenia Westbrook and Ronald Rogers.He was also the brother of Gussie Curry and Raymond Rogers.He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Services were April 5 in the chapel of Coker Funeral Home, Decatur, Texas.ST. NORCO – Mary LaGreca St. Pierre, 81, a native of New Orleans and resident of Norco, died April 3. She was the wife of the late Maurice St. Pierre Jr. and mother of Rita Levy and Maurice III, Anthony and Ray Paul St. Pierre.She was also the daughter of the late Charles and Anna LaGreca and sister of Salvadore LaGreca and the late Anthony, Charles, Joseph, Anna, Sister Annette and Katherine LaGreca.She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan. GONZALES – Doris Therese “Gran” Schexnayder Sigmon, 83, a native of Welcome and resident of Gonzales, died April 4. She was the wife of the late Dr. Wade H. Sigmon Jr. and mother of Judy Petite, Peggy Schneider, Patricia Holder, Betty Latuso and Ann Smith.She was also the daughter of the late Walter and Aimee Schexnayder and sister of Lorraine Hudspeth, Alice Eaton, Enola James, Irving Schexnayder and the late Vivian McCready, Gloria Pruitt and Walter Schexnayder.She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.She was a 1937 graduate of Southwest Louisiana Institute and joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was a radioman third class when discharged.Services were April 6 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, with internment at Hope Haven Cemetery Mausoleum, Gonzales. CONVENT – Robert Killian Taylor, 83, a native of Crossett, Ark., and resident of Paulina, died April 3. He was the husband of Ethel LeBlanc Taylor and father of Kathleen Lott and Curtis and Brian Taylor.He was the son of the late Harry Bristol and Mary Ellen Curtis. He was preceded in death by two brothers.He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.He was a World War II veteran and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5852.Services were April 4 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Convent, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.THOMAS
EDGARD – Cleo J. “Candy” Thomas, 80, a native of Edgard and resident of Chicago, died April 2. NORCO – Norine Brownell Waguespack, a native of Philadelphia and resident of Norco, died April 3. She was the wife of Frederick G. Waguespack and mother of Noreen “Reenie” Logreco, Catherine Bright, Kathleen Moak, Patricia Gottung, Eilene Pruett and Winnie Muery.She was also the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Brownell and sister of the late Helen Vahey and Charles Brownell Jr.She is also survived by 14 grandchildren.Services were April 6 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
