Hahnville, which improved to 23-6-0 on the season, advanced to play at Archbishop Rummel today at 3:30 p.m. Rummel moved on with a 12-0 victory over Andrew Jackson in bi-district Saturday. East Jefferson, the third place team from District 8-I, finished its season at 9-7. It didn’t take long for Hahnville to get on the scoreboard Saturday. Webre tossed in a pass from the right corner that Adam Bordelon headed to Carmelo Rodrigues. Rodrigues knocked the pass in, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead 1:10 into the game. Hahnville added another goal at the six-minute mark. Bordelon sent a kick in that Webre took on the left side of the goal and headed in, building the lead to 2-0. East Jefferson goal keeper Willie Romero kept the Warriors in the game, making a leaping deflection of a shot by Webre, then making the grab after Webre had grabbed the rebound. Romero followed with a diving stop off a shot by Nick Justice after a pass by Tim Sirmon. Bordelon took a crossing pass from Brad Guillory but had his shot go just high at the 19-minute mark. Guillory then took a shot that went wide left. Bordelon made it 3-0 at the 19-minute mark, taking a pass from Webre, cutting in on goal and angling a shot into the right side of the net. Eight minutes later, Guillory sent a shot through the crease. Bordelon took the rebound on the left side and had his shot grabbed by a diving Romero. East Jefferson got its only shot on goal at the 30-minute mark on a direct kick by Gabriel Martinez that was grabbed by Hahnville goalie Matt Cummins. Hahnville got back on the scoreboard three minutes later as Webre took a pass from Guillory and took a shot that deflected off Romero into the right side of the net, making it 4-0. Webre sent a pass ahead to Guillory whose shot was grabbed by Romero as the first half ended. “We went out and got the quick goal pretty early,” Hahnville head coach Raphael DeVega, whose team has not lost since the St. Paul’s Tournament in December, said. “It always helps to get a quick start. Early in the first half, we were passing the ball very well and the game in the air went well for us early.” Hahnville again scored early in the second half as a toss in by Michael Fedrick from the right corner deflected off a East Jefferson into the net, building the lead to 5-0 at the four-minute mark. East Jefferson went on the attack at the 12-minute mark as Martinez had a shot blocked, then took the rebound and knocked it wide right. Webre got his third goal at the 12-minute mark after taking a pass from Justice in front of the net and knocking it in, giving the Tigers a 6-0 lead. Bordelon had a shot two minutes later from outside the box bounce off the crossbar. Romero grabbed throw ins in front of net by Fedrick and Webre and a shot by Michael Harmon.
