Lady Cats’ Lennix breaks scoring mark

RESERVE – East St. John senior Kinya Lennix added another milestone in her illustrous prep career against South Terrebonne last Friday night. Lennix broke the school record for points in a game, scoring 43 in the Lady Cats’ 82-33 victory over the Lady Gators in District 7-5A play. Lennix had 20 points at halftime and got the record midway through the fourth quarter. Lennix broke the old record of 42, set by Ginina Louis, also against South Terrebonne last season. Keeshawn Carter had 41 points against Hahnville in 1997. Lennix just missed the record last month. Against Riverside in the championship game of the Riverside Tournament, she had 31 points at the end of the third quarter before finishing with 33. Lennix is averaging 17 points per game this season.
