Rickson’s 35 leads Hahnville past DHS

ESJ stays in first in District 7-5A

DESTREHAN – Toyelle Rickson tossed in 35 points as Hahnville took over sole possession of second place in District 7-5A with a 58-54 victory at Destrehan Friday night. The Lady Tigers moved to 4-1 in district and 12-8 overall while the Lady Cats dropped to 3-2 in district play and 19-7 on the season. Hahnville took a 24-21 lead into the lockerroom at the half after leading 13-12 at the end of the first quarter. Destrehan trimmed the deficit to 36-34 heading into the fourth quarter. Elizabeth Landry contributed eight points for the Lady Tigers. Joevone Markey paced Destrehan with 23 points. Meagan Stock had nine points and Ashley Sentimore eight. East St. John 81, South Lafourche 19 RESERVE – East St. John held South Lafourche scoreless in the first and fourth quarters to take an 81-19 victory in District 7-5A play Friday night. East St. John remained in first place in District 7-5A with a 6-0 record in district and a 21-3 mark on the season. South Lafourche fell to 10-8 overall and 1-3 in district. Kinya Lennix had 25 points to lead East St. John. Kovavona Hamilton added 14 points, Erin Keller 13 and Danielle Stemley 12. The Lady Cats raced out to a 24-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 46-5 at halftime. The lead grew to 66-19 at the end of the third quarter. E.D. White 50, St. Charles Catholic 33 THIBODAUX – E.D. White pulled away with a 20-6 fourth quarter to take a 50-33 District 9-3A victory over St. Charles Catholic Friday night. The Lady Cardinals took over first place in District 9-3A, moving to 15-8 overall and 2-0 in district. St. Charles Catholic dropped to 3-15 overall and 0-1 in district. Heather Heltz led St. Charles Catholic with 13 points. Kristen Lodrigues added nine points. E.D. White led 19-18 at halftime and took a 30-27 lead into the fourth quarter. Donaldsonville 79, Lutcher 49 DONALDSONVILLE – Donaldsonville jumped out to a 45-19 halftime lead on its way to a 79-49 victory over Lutcher Friday night. Donaldsonville evened its District 9-3A record at 1-1 and moved to 9-13 overall. Lutcher fell to 1-1 in district and 10-16 overall. Rhonda Joseph scored a game-high 23 points for Donaldsonville. Alexis Lymon added 19 points and Jaime Octave 18. Lutcher was led by Jennifer Detillier with 11 points.
