RESERVE – Two accidents resulted from Friday mornings heavy fog in St. John the Baptist Parish, but little in the way of injuries.
In the first, Brandy Branson, 27, of Vacherie, was coming from the Pleasure Bend area near Lac des Allemands on Louisiana Highway 643 in her 1999 Jeep Wrangler, headed to Luling.
At 6:47 a.m., according to Capt. Michael Tregre of the St. John Sheriffs Office, she lost control in a curve and almost totally submerged the Jeep in a canal.
However, she climbed out of the Jeep without sustaining any injury and called for assistance.
Not as fortunate was Craig Hill, 32, of Edgard.
Hill was eastbound on Airline Highway at the intersection with West 10th Street in Reserve.
At 7:25 a.m., Hills 1987 Nissan Maxima was struck by a 1998 Chevrolet pickup coming out of West 10th and driven by Barbara Davis, 34, of Springfield.
The impact knocked the Nissan across the median strip and into the westbound turn lane on Airline. However, Hill sustained a leg injury and was transported by Acadian Ambulance to River Parishes Hospital. Davis was not ticketed.
