DEMPSTER
VACHERIE – Dieudonne Dempster, 93, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Nov. 25. He was the father of Hazel, Odile, Dorothy, Thereasa, Mary Jane,Maude, Mary Louise, Andrew, Horace, Pershing, Raymond, Jerry and Dieudonne Dempster Jr.
He is also survived by 74 grandchildren and 249 great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 27 in the chapel of Benevelean Funeral Home, Lafitte,with interment at St. Pius Mausoleum, Crown Point.
HAYDEL
LAPLACE – Corinne M. Haydel, 84, a native of Edgard and resident of Reservefor 23 years, died Nov. 24. She was the daughter of the late Oliver and EdnaHaydel and sister of Elmire Loup, Therese Wine and the late Hamilton and George Haydel.
Services were Nov. 27 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
HAYDEL
NEW ORLEANS – Simon Antoine Haydel Sr., 84, a native of Vacherie andresident of New Orleans since 1941, died Nov. 22. He was the husband of thelate Mary Lise Falcon Haydel and father of Elizabeth Titus and Simon Jr. andRobert Haydel.
He was also the son of the late Stephen and Angela Simon Haydel and brother of Elanore Hymel, Maurice Haydel and the late Rose Rogers and Louis Haydel.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 28 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment St. Vincent de Paul Mausoleum, New Orleans.
MARKEY
PARADIS – Carolyn Lorraine Hills Markey, 59, a resident of Paradis, died Nov.
20. She was the wife of the late Stanley Markey and mother of Michelle Hillsand Lizzanne Markey.
She was also the daughter of the late Joe and Elizabeth Brown Hills and sister of Wilbert Sr., Leonard, Roland, Donald, Warren Hills and the late Lela Williamsand Dorothy, Gloria, Albertine, Joe, Melvin and Clyde Hills.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Paradis, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
OWEN
LAPLACE – Carol G. Owen, 67, a native of Red Bolling Springs, Tenn., andresident of LaPlace for 27 years, died Nov. 26. He was the husband of thelate Gwen Hurd Owen by first marriage and of Yvonne Rogers Owen by second marriage, father of Judy White and Tim Owen and stepfather of Donna Ellsworth and Dennis, Kenneth, Benny, Brian Keith and Scott Parker.
He was also the son of the late Wilmer and Cloe Hale Owen and brother of Doris Baker and Ronal Owen.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, 11 step- grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 28 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaPlace.
PABLO
WALLACE – Elmira Pablo, a native and resident of Wallace, died Nov. 23. Shewas the wife of the late Blaney Pablo and mother of Annie Franklin, Blanche and Earl Pablo Sr. and the late Mercede, Blaney Jr. and Charles SolomonPablo.
She was also the daughter of the late Solomon and Annie Mitchell and sister of the late Freedia Williams, Evelyn Steib and Royal Sr., Merlin and OctaviaMitchell.
She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, Wallace, withinterment at Willow Grove Benevolent Society Cemetery, Wallace. Visitationstarts at 9:45 a.m.
REESE
KENNER – Harold E. Reese, 51, a native of Byers, Texas, and resident ofDestrehan, died Nov. 26. He was the husband of Sandra Reese and father ofAmber and Michael Reese.
He was also the son of E.J. and Ann Reese and brother of Jeannie Burris andBecky and Eddy Joe Reese.
He was vice-president and general manager of Bunge Corp. of Destrehan.Services were Nov. 28 at First Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment atByers Cemetery, Byers, Texas.
