Gymnasts first at Invitational

LAPLACE – Gymnasts from Ivanov’s Gymnastics Academy kept up their recent success at the Kips Heartbeat Invitational held in Hattiesburg, Miss., Nov. 17-19.The academy’s Level 6 team placed first at the meet, the largest in Mississippi with over 500 competitors from Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. Team members were Stephanie Alves,Olivia Carisella, Katie Tregre, Julie Leto and Annie Marosits.
Marosits placed first in the individual all-around in Level 6 with a score of 33.0. She also placed first in the vault, bars and floor exercises.Carisella also placed first in the all-around at Level 6 in her age division with a score of 34.3. She had a first place in the vault and second placeson the bars and floor exercises.
Yvette Triay was first in the all-around at Level 8 with a score of 35.45.That score included a first place in the vault and a second place in the floor exercises.
Brandie Doskey was first in the all-around at Level 7 with a 33.10. Shehad a first place in the beam, a second in the vault and thirds in the bars and floor.
Coti Roussel was first in her age group in Level 4 with a 31.15. She wasfirst in the bars and floor and fourth in the vault and beam. JessicaStonestreet also placed first in her age division in Level 4 with a 34.8.That score included first places in the bars, beam and floor and a second place in the vault.
Leto was first in the beam and second in the floor exercises. Alves wassecond in the vault and bars and was also second in the all-around in Level 6 with a 32.85.
