Jazzercise franchises expand nationwideL’Observateur / November 22, 2000LAPLACE – Jazzercise franchise owner Michelle Smith-Bibbs, who teachesJazzercise classes in LaPlace, welcomed two franchised instructors to herstaff recently. Susie Aubert and Jeannine Harrilal are now part of a team ofover 4,700 Jazzercise instructors teaching classes in the U.S., Canada and38 other countries.

All Jazzercise instructors must pass an intensive certification program,which includes a written exam in physiology and a teaching audition. They arealso certified annually in CPR and participate in continuing educationprograms through Jazzercise, Inc.

Smith-Bibbs is elated to have Aubert and Harrilal as part of her staff. “I’m soexcited about the growth of Jazzercise locally,” said Smith-Bibbs. “Jazzerciseoffers a unique blend of fitness with jazz dance that LaPlace residents havediscovered is a lot of fun. I have added additional class to make it easier forstudents to enjoy a workout at a time that is convenient for them. HavingAubert and Harrilal to assist with those additional classes makes the LaPlaceJazzercise Center an even better place to workout,” she said.
