BROWNMARRERO – Joseph Rodger Brown Jr., 51, a native of Fowles and resident ofLaPlace, died Nov. 9. He was the husband of Joyce Ellis Brown and father ofJoseph Brown III and Darryl and Michael White.

He was also the son of Joseph Sr. and Ollie Mae Brown and brother ofRoosevelt Murray, Johnny Lee Washington, Willie and Gus Magee, EdwinPinkney, Laura Bowman, Lula Mae Allen, Theresa Washington, Mary Lee Allenand Alfred, Barbara, Debra, Mary, Rose, Gloria, Sandra, Betty, Ellen and thelate Larry Brown.

Services were Nov. 16 in the chapel of Davis Mortuary, Marrero, withinterment at Mt. Airy Memorial Park Cemetery.

CHRISTENDES ALLEMANDS – Lydia Goodman Christen, 93, a native and resident of DesAllemands, died Nov. 15. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Christen andmother of Henry and the late Ralph Christen.

She was also the daughter of the late Henry and Liza Barrios Goodman andsister of Lisa “Susie” Parker and the late Mabel Galiano, Odile Ives, AmyZimmerman and Fredrick Goodman.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and onegreat-great-grandchild.

Services were Nov. 17 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, withinterment at Christen Cemetery, Des Allemands.

WHITTINGTONAVONDALE – Marious Whittington Sr., 57, a native of Welcome and residentof New Orleans, died Nov. 13. He was the husband of Georgia Whittington,father of Marious “Mickey” Whittington Jr. and stepfather of James andDonnie Polk.

He was also the brother of Oralee Broden, Barbara Jones, Ora Trepagnier,Dora Smith, Oretha Helire, Florence Smith, Idell Taylor and Toefield, Ervin andWalter Whittington.

He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Little Zion Baptist Church, Avondale, withinterment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Welcome.
