VACHERIE – Louisiana Highway 20 between Vacherie and Louisiana Highway 307, or Kraemer Road, will be closed beginning Nov. 24 from 6p.m. to 6 a.m. During those dates Louisiana Department of Transportationand Development will be replacing eight precast concrete spans and the steel grid deck mainspan on the Bayou Chevreuil Bridge. The roadway willbe open for travel from 6 a.m. Until 6: p.m., but will be closed at night.”After Nov. 24 the bridge will be re-opened until fabrication of the steelgrid deck is completed. Delivery of the deck is expected to take five to sixweeks. At that time the roadway will be closed again in order to completerepairs,” said DOTD.

The detour routes for LA 20 during the closure times are Louisiana Highway 3127 to Louisiana Highway 310 to U.S. Highway 90 through Bouttethen north on Louisiana Highway 307 toward Louisiana Highway 20.
