DUFRENE

LULING – Ruby Troxler Dufrene, 81, a native of Taft and a resident of Paradis, died Oct. 24. She was the wife of the late Paul Dufrene Jr.She was also the daughter of the late Ruffin and Virginia Lorio Troxler and sister of the late Angele Roux, Pauline Meyers and James, Herbert, Gratiene, Hypolite and Rhoda May Troxler.

Services were Oct. 30 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis,with internment at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft.

GAUDET

KENNER – Thelma Jenkins Gaudet, 78, a native of Albany and resident of Norco for over 50 years, died Oct. 28. She was the wife of the late FelixGaudet and mother of Jerry Gaudet, Beverly Petrolia, Trudy Heber and Judy Madere.

She was also the daughter of the late Norman and Carrie Jenkins and sister of the late Norman Jenkins, Lois Breaux and Wilma Stewart.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 31 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, with intermentat St. Michael’s Cemetery, Convent.

TASSIN

MT. AIRY – Bernard “Benny” Tassin Jr., 52, a native and resident of Mt. Airy,died Oct. 27. He was the father of Teel Fleming, Staffon McKinely andBernard III, Brent and Niya Tassin.

He was also the son of Bernard Tassin Sr. and Vivian R. Tassin and brotherof Marion Robinson, Marcel Nelson Jr. and Clarence, Percy, Bernell, Leroy,Debra and JoAnn Tassin.

He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church, LaPlace, withinternment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.
