ANTHONY RESERVE – Thomas “Pappy” Anthony Jr., 50, a native and resident ofLaPlace, died Oct. 13. He was the husband of Barbara Campbell Anthony,father of Connie Williams, Ileisha Mitchell and Renee and Thomas “Stevie” Anthony and stepfather of Adrian Tassin and Zina, Yolanda and Torres Diggs.
He was also the son of the late Thelma Fleming and Thomas Anthony Sr. andbrother of Barbara, Dan and Robert Anthony.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Robottom Mortuary, Reserve,with interment at Bethlehem Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 10a.m.
BARRE NEW ORLEANS – Josephine Jones Barre, 82, a native of Edgard and resident of New Orleans for 65 years, died Oct. 7. She was the mother of Judy Jamesand Michael Barre Sr.
She was also the sister of Lawrence Jones.
She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 14 at St. John No. 5 Baptist Church, New Orleans, withinterment at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.
CANCIENNE LULING – Lloyd T. “Bullet” Cancienne, 63, a resident of Luling, died Oct. 16.He was the husband of Lilly Gaubert Cancienne and father of Ellen, Fallon, Allen, Dale, Calvin and Brent Cancienne.
He was also the son of the late George and Beatrice Lasseigne Cancienne and brother of Elsie and Marie Rodrigue, Alyce Folse and Paul and the late Ruth Cancienne.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church,Luling, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Luling. Visitation starts at 8a.m.
CARDINAL DESTREHAN – Paul R. Cardinal Sr., 66, a native of Alabama and resident ofDestrehan, died Oct. 13. He was the husband of the late Noelle AlbertCardinal and father of Paul Jr. and Cameron Cardinal.He is also survived by two grandchildren.
He was the owner of Cardinal Insurance Agency and was a former member of the South Louisiana Port Commission.
Services were Oct. 16 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan,with interment at the church mausoleum.
DOUGLAS BROOKHAVEN, MISS. – Ruby Nell Nordan Douglas, 74, a native of LincolnCounty, Miss., and resident of Convent, died Oct. 15. She was the wife ofC.C. Douglas Jr. and mother of Dale Sr. and Steve Douglas.She was also the daughter of the late Calvin and Avis Crawford Nordan and sister of Dot Strahan and the late Cecil and J.C. Nordan.She is also survived by five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by onegrandchild.
Graveside services were Oct. 17 at Rosehill Cemetery, Brookhaven, Miss.
DUMAS VACHERIE – Alice M. Dumas, 58, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Oct.12. She was the wife of Herbert Dumas Sr. and mother of Theresa Isom,Mary, Hope, Mary Elizabeth, Michael, Herbert Jr., Dale and the lateChristopher and Gerard Dumas.
She was also the daughter of Melonie Freeman Dumas and the late Ralph “Noon” Dumas and sister of Rita Jones, Eva Schexnayder, Margaret Jackson, Melonie Broden, Velma Trench and Stella, Shirley, Valerie, Claude “Pete,” Joseph “Tabby” and the late Eddie “Skin” Dumas.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were Oct. 16 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, South Vacherie,with interment at the church cemetery.
HOADLEY LAPLACE – Jacqueline Lacorte Parks Hoadley, 35, a native of the Philippines and resident of LaPlace for 14 years, died Oct. 12. She was the wife ofCharles Wayne Hoadley and mother of Joseph Parks.
She was also the daughter of Wesley and Edna Parks, sister of Mischelle, Wendy and Wesley Parks Jr. and granddaughter of Mable Parks.Services were Oct. 17 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
PROVENZANO METAIRIE – Harry C. Provenzano, 71, a native of New Orleans and resident ofDestrehan for 25 years, died Oct. 13. He was the husband of RubyProvenzano and father of Dale Provenzano.
He was also the son of the late Michael and Henrietta Russo Provenzano and brother of Joy Colletti, Mike Provenzano and the late Cecilia Bernos and Catherine Russell.
He is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 17 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
