RACELAND – Destrehan’s Fighting Wildcats thumped Central Lafourche 27-0 in district play, with scoring all around for the visiting team.

Destrehan improved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in District 7-5A. CentralLafourche fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in district.

DeChad Ward rushed for two touchdowns, in the first and second quarters.

Randy Roth connected with Fred Smith in the second quarter for another touchdown, and kicker Jonathan Scifres nailed two field goals, in the first and second quarter.

By halftime, it was all over for the Trojans.

Roth connected with 17 of 25 passes for 265 yards and one touchdown.

Ward carried 15 times for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Smith made fourreceptions for 79 yards and one touchdown.

Also in the Wildcat stats, Elroy Perilloux carried eight times for 75 yards, Craig Eugene made five receptions for 110 yards and Richard Jones likewise made five receptions, adding 37 yards to the Destrehan total offense.

Next game will see Destrehan hosting South Terrebonne.
