DESTREHAN – Shannie Marie Smith of Destrehan and Wayne Garol Ancale Jr.

of Luling were united in marriage Aug. 18 at St. Charles Borromeo Church inDestrehan, with the Rev. John Phuc officiating. A reception at OrmondCountry Club in Destrehan followed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Duanne Cormier Cazalot of Destrehan and James Michael Smith of Jackson, Miss., and the stepdaughter of Albert Cazalot ofDestrehan. She is also the granddaughter of Marilynn and Emery Cormier Sr.of Slidell, Erline Cazalot of Destrehan and Isabelle Smith of Houston.

The bride is a graduate of Riverside Academy and is presently employed by W & T Offshore Inc. as an administrative assistant. She is also a danceinstructor at Dance Unlimited.

The groom is the son of Irene Arceneaux of LaPlace and Wayne Ancale Sr. ofLuling. He is also the grandson of Edith Ancale of New Sarpy.The groom is a graduate of Destrehan High School and is employed by Waterford 3 as an instrument technician.

The bride wore a straight white satin gown accented with pearls and stones and a corset top and detachable train. She also wore long white satin gloves.Her bouquet consisted of two dozen white roses.

The bridesmaids wore spaghetti strap straight seafoam green gowns with shawls. Their bouquets consisted of white roses.The groom wore a black tuxedo with tails and a white shirt.

The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with white shirts.

The maid of honor was Samantha Cazalot Sidwell of Destrehan, and bridesmaids were Buffy Robichaux of Gonzales and Alysia “Lecy” Cazalot of Destrehan. The junior bride was Madison Sidwell.The bestman was John Bourg of Destrehan, and groomsmen were Mike Woulfe of Destrehan and David Sutton of New Sarpy. Ushers were DonSardenga of Reserve and Joshua Cormier of LaPlace.

Following a honeymoon trip to Cancun, the couple now reside in Luling.
