Motel, home raided In drug bust

LAPLACE – Narcotics agents swarmed in at a motel and a private residence at 6:22 p.m. Friday, arrested six people and recovered drugs valued at$4,300.
Capt. Michael Tregre of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office reported thedepartment’s Bureau of Narcotics teamed with members of the Felony Intercept Unit, Criminal Patrol Division and K-9 Patrol and moved in on the P&M Motel, 124 Apple St., and a residence at 652 W. Second St., LaPlace,both owned by Eldridge Bartholomew.
Bartholomew, 58, was arrested along with Gary Vidal Mizell, 28, 652 W.
Second St.; and Sam Gordon Jr., 45, 124 Apple Room 1, LaPlace, atBartholomew’s residence, where deputies recovered 21.74 grams of crackcocaine, 70.93 grams of marijuana and nine weapons.Each were charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute and also on having firearms along with drugs. They are being heldon a $60,000 bond set by 40th Judicial District Judge Madeline Jasmine.
At the same time deputies struck at the P&M Motel, where they arrested Victor Thomas Jr., 56, 130 Zack Thomas Drive, LaPlace; Michael J. Barfield,37, 839 Apple St., LaPlace; and Theresa St. Germaine, 37, 1700 CambridgeDrive.
Each were charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and are being held on a $9,000 bond set by Judge Jasmine.
