DARENSBOURG HAHNVILLE – Enase Coleman Darensbourg, 79, a native of Labadieville and resident of Hahnville, died Sept. 18. She was the wife of the late JosephDarensbourg and mother of Mildred Vinnette, Evelena Johnson, Marguerite Darensbourg and the late Helen and Joseph Darensbourg Jr.
She was also the daugher of the late Annie and Royal Coleman Sr. and sisterof Stella Bourgeois and Leslie, Anita and the late Royal Coleman Jr.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.Services are today at 11 a.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Hahnville, withinterment at Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville. Visitation begins at 9 a.m.
EDWARDS EDGARD – Mitchell “Da Da” Edwards, 72, a native of Edgard and resident of Boutte for 15 years, died Sept. 19. He was the husband by first marriage ofthe late Shirley Poche Edwards and by second marriage of Rosalind Griffin Edwards, father of Rita Jarrow, Mitchell, Ray, Larry, Henry, Darrell, Ronald Edwards and the late Richard Sr., Eddie and Lori Edwards and stepfather ofOtis, Tyrone and Damien Davis.
He was also son of the late Ernest Sr. and Adrienne Pye Edwards and brotherof Florence Borne, Dorothy Bold, Agnes Johnson, Josepha Gauthier and Frances, Ernest Jr., Henry and Raymond Edwards.He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
GIROIR METAIRIE – Evelyn Lutyhe Giroir, 60, a native of New Orleans and resident of Norco for 15 years, died Sept. 20. She was the wife of John Giroir Sr. andmother of Kim Ande and Dr. John Giroir Jr.She was also the daughter of the late Micheal Sr. and Evelyn Lutyhe andsister of Carol Brunies and Bruce, Henry and Michael Lutyhe Jr.
She is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
JONES MARRERO – Holloway Jones Sr., 79, a native of Edgard and resident ofWestwego, died Sept. 15. He was the husband of Rutha Mae Reado Jones andfather of Gweldolyn, Jackie, Katina, Cherlyn, Joycelyn, Judy, Wyndell, James, Murray, Kevin, David Sr. and Holloway Jones Jr. and stepfather of Terron,Antwinette, Denise and Renette Neville.
He was also the brother of Josephine and Lawrence Jones.
He is also survived by 50 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Marrero, withinterment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
MADERE LAPLACE – Norma Triche Madere, 75, a native of Montz and resident of LaPlace for 58 years, died Sept. 20. She was the wife of James S. Madereand mother of Cheryl Naquin, Janelle Bovia and James D. and John RandyMadere.
She was also the daughter of the late Dennis J. and Margaret WimprineTriche and sister of Daisy Arvello and the late Helen Weber and Joseph and Verlyn Triche.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was a past officer of the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3337 Auxiliary.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 8a.m.
MILLET LAPLACE – Leona Josephine Millet, 94, a native and resident of Garyville, died Sept. 18. She was the daughter of the late Jean “J.O.” and Marie Dwyer Milletand sister of the late Lucille Delery, Lena Delery, Laura Murphy, Lolita Murphy and Leonce, Louis, Leo, Lester, Lydia and Lily Millet.
She is also the aunt of Carroll Delery Jr., Jackie Kern, Minette Montegut,Carol Vicknair, Gwendolyn Lemanier, Thelma Carney, Dubs Allen, Evelyn Duncan and Leo, Roland, Lyle, David, Jean, John Louis, Eugene, Lester Jr.,Dorothy and Barbara Jean Millet.
She was a teacher for 46 years at Garyville Elementary School.
Services were Sept. 22 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace,with interment at Lake Lawn Cemetery, New Orleans.
SCHEXNAYDER GRAMERCY – Randy Michael “Mike” Schexnayder, 39, a native of Gramercy and resident of Grand Point, died Sept. 20. He was the husband of SusanSaragusa Schexnayder and father of Meghann and Melissa Schexnayder.
He was also the son of Randall and Annabelle Zeringue Schexnayder and brother of Wendy Poche, Trudy LeBlanc and Damian Schexnayder.
He was also the grandson of Arcade and Elise Zeringue and Wilton and the late Wilda Schexnayder.
He was a production assistant at Uniroyal Chemical in Geismar, a 1979 graduate of Lutcher High School and a member of the 1978 Lutcher High state championship football team.
Services are today at noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
