CLARK

LAPLACE – Selwyn W. “Billy” Clark, 47, a native of La Ceiba, Honduras, andresident of LaPlace for 20 years, died Aug. 30. He was the husband ofPatricia Clark, father of Maria and Shawn Clark and stepfather of ShelleyNicholson and Eric South.

He was also the son of Roberto Sr. and Ofelia Clark and brother of EdaCarcamo, Cossette Lainez, Jose Eduardo Clark and Roberto, Charles and JoseFranciso.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Memorial services were Aug. 2 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-DaySaints, LaPlace.

COLEMAN

PAULINA – Rosemary Aubert Coleman, 74, a native and resident of Lutcher,died Sept. 1. She was the wife of the late Joseph Coleman Sr. and mother ofCynthia Miller, Joseph Jr. and Anthony Coleman.

She was also the daughter of the late Albert and Lucille Roussel Aubert andsister of Harold and Alvin Aubert and the late Irma Carpenter, Aline Delanceyand Albert and Honore Aubert.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with intermentat the church mausoleum.

EDWARDS

EDGARD – Jerry Anthony “Truck” “Putchy” Edwards, 39, a native of Edgardand resident of LaPlace, died Sept. 2. He was the father of BrittanyBroussard and Zaria and the late Jerry Edwards.

He was also the son of Ernest and Beatrice Lumar Edwards and brother ofKimberlyn Coleman and Darlene, Shannon, Ganelda, Robin, Jerald, Craig,Donald and the late Cheryl Edwards.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

FLUENCE

GRAMERCY – David John Fluence, 33, a native of Gramercy and resident ofReserve, died Sept. 4. He was the husband of Dionne Fluence and father ofDavanna Eugene and Devron, David Jr. and Devona Fluence.

He was the son of Thomas and the late Joyce Fluence. He is survived bythree brothers and five sisters.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church,Gramercy, with interment at Western Cemetery, Lutcher.

FORSYTH

PAULINA – Godfrey “Guy” Joseph Forsyth, 90, a native of Paulina, formerresident of LaPlace and resident of Gonzales, died Sept. 7. He was thehusband of Armaize Forsyth and father of Maryand Guidry, Dianne Becnel,Shirley Duhon, Julie Cambre and Donald, Carroll and Wayne Forsyth.

He was the son of the late Yancy Forsyth and Marie Schexnayder and brotherof the late Bella Plaisance, Lydia Miller, Hubert Brooks and Lucius, Frank,Maurice, Royden, Henry, Wilfred, Emery and Alvin Forsyth.

He was preceded in death by an infant son and an infant brother and sister.

He is survived by 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with intermentat the church mausoleum.

GORDON

VACHERIE – Barbara “Seally” Gordon, 52, a native and resident of Vacherie,died Sept. 5. She was the wife of Isaac Gordon and mother of Christine,Deadrienne, Leadrienne, Chris and Adrian “Tony” Gordon.

She was also the daughter of the late Isaac and Eula Mae Mitchell and sisterof Jackie Keller and Isaac, Van and Roy Mitchell.

She is survived by four grandchildren.

Services are today at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 11:30 a.m.

HAYNES

RESERVE – Aline Perkins Haynes, 88, a native of Amite Count, Miss., andresident of Reserve for many years, died Sept. 2. She was the mother ofClaudia Brown and stepmother of William Reed.

She was also the daughter of the late Bud Hughes and Beatrice Perkins andsister of Hilda Williams and Pete Hughes.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 10great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at Beech Grove Baptist Church, Reserve, with intermentat Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

HERBERT

CONVENT – Velma Scott Herbert, 80, a native of Union and resident ofConvent, died Sept. 3. She was the wife of the late Wallace Herbert Sr. andmother of Della Irvin, Stephanie Jacob, Myrtie Felton and Shirley and WallaceHerbert.

She was also the daughter of the late Ned Jr. and Orelia Scott.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, two sisters and four brothers.

Services were Sept. 7 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, Convent, withinterment at Pilgrim Baptist Cemetery, Convent.

HYMEL

VACHERIE – Hilda Rose Hymel, 98, a resident of Vacherie, died Sept. 6. She issurvived by Eula and Roland Hymel. She was the daughter of the late Aurelie and Valain Hymel.

She was preceded in death by Elvina Hotard and George, Celina, Dervina,Jules, Elise and Francis Hymel Sr.

She is also survived by 34 nieces and nephews.

Services were Sept. 8 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with intermentat the church mausoleum.

MARTIN

NEW ORLEANS – Sidney Allen Martin Sr., 70, a native of Edgard and residentof New Orleans, died Sept. 1. He was the father of Francinia Hillard andJanice, Louise, Romalis, Wendell, Darryl and Sidney Martin Jr.

He was also the stepson of Beeman Joseph and brother of Dolores Monette,Elaine Phillips and Catherine Marshall.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 9 a.m. at First United Baptist Church, New Orleans,with interment at Green Street Cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MASON

MONTZ – Mary L. Mason, 47, a native and resident of Montz, died Sept. 3. Shewas the mother of Alvin, Natasha and Demarcus Mason.

She was also the daughter of Leroy Sr. and the late Carmen Mason,stepdaughter of Edna Mason and sister of Barbara Anderson, Joslyn Stirgusand Karen, Leroy Jr., Leon, Carl, Malcolm and Blaine Mason.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Providence II Baptist Church, Montz, withinterment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan. Visitation startsat 9 a.m.
