DEAR EDITOR: On behalf of the LeBoeufs and 100 other people who were there, we want to thank Tom and Joyce Weber for caring for our neighborhood and throwing a block party to get the message out that crime doesn’t pay, always report what you see, and do not let the burglars and vandals free rein in the neighborhood – stop them.
The feedback is it was so good to see so many neighbors up and down and all around the neighborhood, talking, eating and caring about each other and wanting to be good neighbors to one another.
We really enjoyed it and hope it happens again soon, not just once a year.
Tom says he wants to throw another one soon, he enjoyed it so much.
Last but not least, we want to thank Parish President Nickie Monica and his family for visiting us. The fire department was represented by “Red”Brignac. Councilman Allen St. Pierre, of course, showed up with a pot ofhis delicious jambalaya. Randall Millet, who sells mobile homes inLaPlace, came in with chips and drinks and tables. The neighborhoodchurch pastor, Wesley Anderson Jr., also came to visit, as well as at least10 deputies who came in to visit and give their support.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable night, knowing people care about themselves and about others.
Thanks, everyone, if I left your name out. Sorry! I just remembered oneperson I forgot to name and she was one of the first ones over, our dear and very thoughtful friend and clerk of court, Eliana DeFrancesch.
Thanks, everyone, and especially Tom and Joyce. We love you. This event happened on Historic Main Street in Garyville and thank God for the beautiful night He gave us. God bless!
Willie and Nell LeBoeuf Garyville
