Mr and Mrs. J.W. Johnson and Welsey Stevenson announce the engagementand upcoming marriage of their daughter, Tennia Lynn Stevenson, to Sylvester Williams, son of Ida S. Williams and the late Joseph S. Williams Sr.The couple plan to marry Aug. 12 at 4 p.m. at the New Home Full GospelMinistries in LaPlace, with the Rev. Steve Allen officiating. A reception willfollow at Marathon Recreation Center in Garyville.

The bride-elect is a graduate of East St. John High School and the Universityof Louisiana at Lafayette, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in public relations. She also received her master’s degree in social work fromLouisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of H.L. Bourgeois High School andthe University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he received a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
