ANDERSON NORCO – Aulton Anderson Sr., 83, a native of Livingston, former residentof Norco and resident of LaPlace for 12 years, died July 25. He was thehusband of Hazel W. Anderson and father of Sylvia Keller, Mary AnnLeBlanc, Joan Roussel, Rita Roussel and David and Aulton “Bubbie” Anderson Jr.

He was also the brother of Thelma Ponsock and the late Robert, Charles, Russell and Olga Anderson.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services were July 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

BLAIN ST. JAMES – Rita Mae “Killee” Blain, 45, a native and resident of St.James, died July 25. She was the mother of Triane Blain, Keith Oubre andChristopher and Andrew Costley Jr. She was also the fiancee of JuniorJames.

She was also the daughter of the late Tony and Enola Blain and sister of Catherine Emery, Vivian Edwards, Stella Charles, Debra Dennis and Marie, Gladys, Rogers, Michael and the late Tony Blain Jr.

Services are today at noon at St. Luke Baptist Church, St. James.Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

BOUDIN DESTREHAN – June Manning Boudin, 76, a native of New Orleans and resident of Destrehan, died July 27. She was the wife of Henry Boudin andmother of Murrel deVeer and Judie and Allan Boudin.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were July 28 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan,with interment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

BURL MT. AIRY – Stella Jones Burl, 89, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of NewOrleans for eight years, died July 25. She was the wife of the late Rev.Herbert Burl Sr. and mother of Fabiola Batiste, Lionel Washington andHerbert Jr., Morgan Sr., Howard Sr. and the late Elvin “Mickey” Burl.She was also the daughter of the late Will and Elvise Jones and sister of Eddie Jones and the late Will Jr. and Nolan Jones, Nellie Tassin, Eva andViney Rogers, Pearl Hayes and Mary Bardell.

She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

FAHRIG LULING – Christian Gottlieb Fahrig II, 40, a native and resident of Luling, died July 24. He was the son of Jasper Sr. and the late Marilyn PerrerFahrig, stepson of Barry W. North and brother of Deborah Corrao, ChandaBurg, Rachel Brown and William, Jonathan, and Jasper Fahrig Jr.

He was a member of the Luling Volunteer Fire Department and a former sheriff’s deputy.

Services were July 27 at First Union Presbyterian Church, Luling.

GIBSON NEW ORLEANS – Marie Louise Gibson, 89, a native of Edgard and resident of McNeil, Miss., for three years, died July 22. She was the mother ofJacqueline Jones, Vivian Minor and Yomia and Webster Thompson.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services were July 28 in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, NewOrleans, with interment at McNeil Cemetery.

JOHNSON MARRERO – Jimmie Johnson Sr., 90, a native of Edgard and resident ofMarrero for 57 years, died July 24. He was the father of Leona Howard,Dorothy Scanks, Willeana Haydel, Orelia Vance and Walter Johnson.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at Morning Star Baptist Church, Marrero, with interment at Young Cemetery, Edgard. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

MAURIN LAPLACE – Yvonne LaBiche Maurin, 76, a native of White Castle and resident of LaPlace for 49 years, died July 25. She was the wife of Marion”Poose” Maurin and mother of Marion “Junior” Maurin Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Alfred and Annette Ory LaBiche and sister of Marielee Bass, Joycelyn Schowalter and the late Merle LaBiche and Genevieve Clarke.

Services were July 27 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, withinterment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

MILLER NORCO – Thomas J. Miller, 74, a native of St. Rose, former resident ofLaPlace and resident of Oxford, Miss., died July 22. He was the husband ofthe late Joyce Englade Miller and father of Susan Wheat and Rhonda Miller.

He was also the son of Sidalise Miller.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were July 28 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco,with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

RAPHILE RESERVE – Alma Raphile, 79, a native and resident of Reserve, died July 26. She was the wife of the Rev. Lawrence Raphile and mother of ClarenceRaphile Sr.

She was also the stepdaughter of Gertrude Taylor and sister of Beulah Mae King, Elizabeth Matthew, Alberta Banks, Leola Joseph and the Rev. ErnestSr., Lawrence and Simon Taylor.She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater New Plymouth Rock BaptistChurch, Reserve, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

SCOTT LUTCHER – Hazel Noel Scott, 65, a native and resident of Lutcher, died July 22. She was the wife of the Rev. Benjamin Scott and mother of Crystal,Barry, Rowdy, Roland, Noland and Larry Scott.

She was also the daughter of the late Alex Sr. and Florence PrembrookNoel, sister of Claudia Griffin, Victoria Harris, George, Alex Jr. and thelate Johnny Jr., Leroy and Joseph Noel, Georgia Mae Marcel and stepsisterof Fannie Jones and Ethel Breaud.

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at King Solomon Baptist Church, Lutcher,with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery.

SYVICK ST. JAMES – Alice Mae Landor Syvick, 77, a native of St. James andresident of New Orleans for 54 years, died July 22. She was the wife ofthe late Lawrence Syvick Sr. and mother of Barbara Stamps and LawrenceJr., Percy and Jerry Syvick.She was also the daughter of the late Alice and Telesmar Landor and sister of Coritha Wills and the late Selina, Clarence, Percy, Lawrence, Junius and Nelson Landor.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James,with interment at Buena Vista Cemetery, Lemonville. Visitation starts at9 a.m.
