Teen charged in beating

HAHNVILLE – No motive was provided by authorities as to why 17-year-old Lionel Brown Jr. allegedly punched his 17-year-old ex-girlfriendrepeatedly after invading her home.
However, Capt. Patrick Yoes commented, “It was one of those teen-agethings.”Brown, of 1019 Paul Fredrick St. in Luling, is charged with aggravatedburglary and second-degree kidnapping after he reportedly climbed through a window of his former girlfriend’s trailer residence in Hahnville at 1:35 a.m. on July 13.She locked herself in a hall bathroom to escape his wrath, but he broke down the door, grabbed her by the neck and repeatedly punched her in the face, head and body.
Yoes said Brown then dragged her from the residence and continued the beating, but she broke free and returned to the residence. Neighborsdisturbed by the commotion called police.
Brown was located on River Road later that same morning and charged. Hisbond was set at $200,000 by 29th Judicial District Judge Emile St. Pierre,and he remains in custody.
The victim was treated for minor injuries at St. Charles Parish Hospitaland released.
Yoes said he had no information about the whereabouts of the victim’s family at the time of the incident.
