School talk show earns award of excellence

LULING – The St. Charles Parish Public School System was awarded the APEX2000 Award of Excellence for the monthly talk show “Learning for Life.”This award winning show, taped by COX Productions, featured the St. CharlesParish School’s Substitute System, informing the public on the changing role of the substitute in the classroom and the need for qualified applicants.

APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.

This program is sponsored by Communications Concepts, Inc., in which theyassist writers, editors and managers to improve their publications through “Writing That Works,” a monthly newsletter on practical writing and communications.

Among the communication professional recipients in the category of Education 8 Information Video Publications, are General Motors-Metal Fabricating Division, Caterpillar Inc. International Monetary Fund, Lockheed Martin Services Inc. andNew York Life Insurance Co.. With over 172 entries, 21 received this outstandingaward.

“We are honored to be in the company of such high profile corporations across the country,” said Superintendent Dr. Rodney Lafon, ” St. Charles Parish is trulya good school district moving toward becoming a great school district.”
