DEAR EDITOR: As Americans, we enjoy access to the latest medical technologies, the most innovative drug therapies, and the ability to make choices about our bodes and our lives. But some in Congress want to deprive us of our accessto all three.

While many plans being proposed may seem appealing, they are really just superficial, quick fixes. This country needs comprehensive Medicarereform, and not just election-year tactics aimed at winning the votes of seniors. Reform must occur, but it should preserve the access we all takefor granted.

I encourage all voters to look beyond the easy solutions being proposed.

Once you consider the alternatives, I think you will see that the quick-fix is actually not a fix at all.
