LAPLACE – St. John Parish Council secretary Audrey Millet will be re-assigned next week to the service center in Garyville.

The new assignment comes as a result of a lawsuit Millet and her husband have filed against the parish. The lawsuit claims the parish illegallychanged zoning ordinances next to her house in Garyville, allowing an auto body shop to operate next to the Millet home.

Since Millet is suing her own employers council lawyers have urged the council to re-assign Millet until the lawsuit is settled. The councilagreed, and after a unanimous vote last week Millet has been re-assigned to the parish office in Garyville.

During her absence Jackie Landeche will be acting secretary to the council. Millet said she will start her new post at the beginning of nextweek in order for Landeche to get acclimated to her new job.
