ACCARDO CONVENT – Beverly Ann Accardo, 44, a native of New Orleans and resident of Paulina, died June 27. She was the daughter of Anthony and Ruth LouqueAccardo and sister of Donna Anglin and Mary, Anthony, Ricky, Keith and Jody Accardo.

Services were June 30 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Convent, withinterment at the church cemetery.

DEROCHE HAHNVILLE – Hazel Brady Deroche, 83, a native of Hahnville and resident of Des Allemands for five years, died June 28. She was the wife of the lateJoseph W. Deroche and mother of Marilee Vassur, Cheryn Porter, AnnaTabor, Julie Thorske and Rodney Deroche.

She was also the daughter of the late Wilson and Nellie Troxler Brady and sister of Geraldine Tregre, Josepha Hymel and the late Wilson Brady.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services were June 30 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Hahnville, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.

KROPOG LAPLACE – Chris J. Kropog, 22, a native and resident of LaPlace, died June27. He was the son of Charles and Sonia Kropog and brother of Stephen andKathryn Kropog.

He was also the grandson of Jame and Ana Rosa McCarson and Ellen and the late Charles S. Kropog.Services were June 30 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, St. Rose.

MARTINEZ DESTREHAN – Larry J. “Tank” Martinez Sr., 55, a native and resident ofDestrehan, died June 28. He was the husband of Bernadette GrennerMartinez and father of Stacey Perret, Vicky Cazentre and Larry Martinez Jr.

He was also the son of the late Emile Sr. and Eurilda Bergeron Martinez andbrother of Emile Martinez Jr. and the late Audrey Mire.He is also survived by two grandchildren.

He was a retired employee of St. Charles Waterworks and honorarymember of the East St. Charles Volunteer Fire Deparment and FraternalOrder of Police.

Services are today at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at 9a.m.

OCKMAND BRUSLY – Frances Folse Ockmand, 73, a native of Vacherie and resident of Brusly, died June 28. She was the wife of the late Roger Ockmand andmother of Anne Acosta, Kathleen Andre, Rose Mary Hebert, Debbie Hicks, Donald Ockmand and the late Roger Ockmand Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Herbert and Evelie Folse Folse and sister of Rita Glavianna, Irene Becnel and the late Eulalie Benoit, Marie Stein and Westmore and Herbert Folse.

She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were June 30 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly,with interment at the church cemetery.

SWIBLE LAPLACE – Edward Henry Swible Sr., 68, a native of New Orleans andresident of LaPlace for 40 years, died June 27. He was the husband ofMiriam Oncale Swible and father of Edward Jr. and David Swible.He was also the son of the late Edward J. and Juliana “Pepper” GablerSwible and brother of Claire “Ronnie” Aldous, Juliana Cassard and the late John and Christopher Swible.

He was a past president and assistant chief of the LaPlace Volunteer Fire Department, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, past secretary of St. John Council on Aging, past secretary of A.A.R.P. and formersergeant of the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He was retired fromShell Chemical in Norco, where he worked for 32 years.

Services were June 30 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, withinterment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
