BARNES EDGARD – Paul J. Barnes, 90, a native of Edgard, former resident of NewOrleans and resident of Edgard, died June 24. He was the husband of thelate Margarite Keller Barnes.

He was the godfather of Gwendolyn Roussel Frank and uncle of Archibald III and James Allen.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

CARTER NEW ORLEANS – Greta Matherne Carter, 77, a native of Lutcher and resident of New Orleans for many years, died June 23. She was the wife ofthe late Walter “Buck” Carter and mother of Greta “Peachie,” David, Walter and Allen Carter.

She was also the daughter of the late Emile and Elise Legeaux Matherne and sister of Ruth “Papet” Remy, Drozina Boudreaux and the late Dorothy Kelly, Loretta Simon and Lyn, Kurt, Jes, Jim and Paul Matherne.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were June 25 in the chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Biloxi National Cemetery.

DENNIS ST. JAMES – Austin “Rah” Dennis Sr., 86, a native and resident of St.James, died June 23. He was the husband of Alma Treaudo Dennis andfather of Ernestine Joseph, Irma Varner, Rosebelle Brown, Audrey Verdin, Deborah Batiste and Rosemary, Austin Jr., Charles, Dale Sr. and HermanDennis.

He was also the son of the late Ovide and Fannie Jones Dennis and brother of the Rev. Alvin Dennis Sr. and the late Louise Louis, Beatrice Harris,Girdie Gibson, Fannie Watts and Sedonia, Ovide, Landry, Morris and Edgar Dennis Sr.

He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were June 27 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, withinterment at the church cemetery.

FULTON LAPLACE – Francis “Fanny” Fulton, 93, a native of Mississippi and a resident of St. John Parish for 75 years, died June 23. He was the husbandof the late Bernice Ory Fulton and father of Melanie Ulmer, Anne Boucvalt, Angela Castay and Robert and Cogan Fulton.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were June 26 in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

LODRIGUES RESERVE – Joy Levet Lodrigues, 86, a native of Lions, former resident of Garyville and resident of LaPlace for 11 years, died June 25. She was thewife of the late Winnie Lodrigues and mother of Winn Lodrigues.

She was also the daughter of the late Sidney Sr. and Marie Ory Levet.She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were June 27 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.

STEVENSON RESERVE – Elnora Stevenson, 93, a native of Reserve and resident of San Francisco for six years, died June 20. She was the wife of the late AlfredStevenson and mother of Alma Williams.

She was also the daughter of the late Louis and Charity Thompson Davis and sister of the late Alberta Thompson and Lorenzo Davis.

She is survived by one great-grandchild and two great-great- grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

WEBER EDGARD – Dolores “Dalo” Jarrow Weber, 71, a resident of Edgard, died June 21. She was the wife of the late Antoine Weber, mother of Mary Francois,Sheryl Williams, Gwendolyn Narcisse, Martin Weber and the late Marilyn Weber and guardian of Terrill Weber and Charles Francois Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Gregory and Georgiana Jarrow and sister of Octavia Daniels, Francis Turner, Theresa Alexander, Wilbert, Mary, Jerry, Nova and Lucien Jarrow and the late Louverther Boudoin.

She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were June 26 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard,with interment at the church cemetery.

WEMPREN LAPLACE – Roy Wempren, 79, a native and resident of LaPlace, died June 24. He was the husband of the late Frances Bossier Wempren and father ofSue Esposito, Kim Cox and Dane, Rodney and Todd Wempren.

He was also the son of the late Honore’ and Alexinn Wempren and brother of Audrey Millet and the late William and Honore’ “Sonny” Weber.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were June 27 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

ZERINGUE HAHNVILLE – Ethel Champagne Zeringue, a resident of Luling, died June 25.

She was the wife of the late Augustin L. Zeringue and mother of Sheronand the late Gary P. Zeringue.She was also the daughter of the late Paul and Bertha Champagne and sister of Doris Ayo, Ida Mae Petit and the late Paul Champagne Jr.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were June 27 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.
