Get High on Life’s 20th anniversary to be celebrated at benefit dinner

LAPLACE – The Get High on Life foundation will celebrate its 20th anniversary at its fourth annual benefit dinner Tuesday, June 27, at 7 p.m.at the LaPlace Holiday Inn.

Proceeds will go to Get High on Life, which helps those who have been afflicted with alcohol and substance addiction. Harold Keller, founder ofGet High on Life, has given talks at local schools, jails and rehabilitation centers, such as the St. James Youth Center, as well as conducting familyinterventions.

The foundation has also held three Real Men Love Jesus breakfasts since December, a Memorial Day breakfast and a youth basketball league during the winter. In addition, Keller said the foundation has been able to donateto other agencies, including Teen Challenge, and sponsor community outreaches.

“I believe the secret of life is giving,” Keller said.

Tickets for the dinner are $100 per couple. Sponsorships are available at$1,000 (platinum), $500 (gold) and $250 (silver) levels. The banquet willinclude testimonies by those who the foundation has helped over the years, music and entertainment and a sit-down dinner.

The banquets have attracted over 200 people each year and raised over $20,000 annually.
