BATISTE VACHERIE – Hayward Batiste Sr., 66, a native and resident of Vacherie, diedMay 16. He was the husband of Nettie Batiste and father of Kim Jairles,Sonya Celestine and Carol Ann Batiste.
He was also the son of Equator Batiste and brother of Mary Lee and Cheryl Bartholomew, Norma Cocoa and Norwood, Robert and Charles Batiste.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Services were May 20 at Highway First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment in the church cemetery.
FALGOUT DESTREHAN – Delores Falgout, 63, a native of Mayfield, Penn. and resident ofDestrehan for the past 40 years, died May 18. She was the wife of RobertFalgout and mother of Laura Donnaud and Keith and Troy Falgout.
She was also the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Salitsky and sister of Flo, Warren, Paul, John and Nicholas Salitsky.
She is also survived by two grandchildren.
Services were May 22 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home, Norco, withentombment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.
GAUTHIER LAPLACE – Helena Cecilia Gauthier, 71, a native of Mansara and resident of LaPlace for the past 35 years, died May 20. She was the wife of the lateSimms Gauthier and mother of Karen Long, Patrick Gauthier and Geralyn Trahan.
She was also the daughter of the late Victor and Marie Ducote and sister of Reese, Victor Jr. and Howard Ducote and the late Della Gauthier, Tillis,Ludger, Ory and Dallas Ducote.
She is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services were May 22 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, withinterment at St. Alphonse Cemetery, Hessmer.
ISKEN LAPLACE – Donald A. Isken, 61, a native of Fond du Lac, Wis. and recentresident of LaPlace, died May 20. He was the husband of Dolores Isken andfather of Greg, Tom and David Isken.
He was also the son of the late Arthur and Adela Isken and brother of George, Priscilla, Dolores and Kay Isken.
He is also survived by one grandchild, seven step-children, 14 step- grandchildren and one great-step-grandchild.
Services are today at noon at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary. Visitation begins at10 a.m.
LOUPGRETNA – Lloyd P. Loup Sr., 78, a native of Vacherie and resident of Gretna,died May 22. He was the husband of the late Margaret Loup and father ofLloyd Jr. and Gerald Loup, Kathy Parchman, Vickie Delger, Ollie Breaux,Shirley Bell, Deborah Bush and the late Joseph Loup.
He was also the son of the late Olive and Henry Loup and brother of Lessie Loup, Audrey Freeman, Myrtle Diebel and the late Henrietta Daigle, Alma Woods, Asalee LeBlanc and Henry, Eugene and Lawrence Loup.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services and interment will be private.
MARTIN LAPLACE – Walter Leroy Martin, 71, a native of Silver Creek, Neb. and aresident of LaPlace for the past 22 years, died May 21. He was the husbandof Hilda Martin and father of Cheryl, Randy and Russell Martin, Debra Wenger and the late Kelly Eichler.
He was also the son of the late Walter and Mable Martin and brother of Dale Martin and the late Vernon and Chester Martin.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were May 23 at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment in Genoa Cemetery, Genoa, Neb.
