Roast for Judge Daley planned for June 17

LAPLACE – Judge Thomas F. Daley, an Appellate Judge in the Fifth CircuitCourt of Appeals has been selected as the honoree for the first annual River Parishes Hospital Auxiliary Community Roast. The function, to be heldSaturday, June 17 at 7 p.m. will benefit the auxiliary’s scholarship fund. Withthis fund, scholarships are given annually to river parish high school seniors.
“River Parishes Hospital, our community based hospital is a terrific asset for St. John the Baptist Parish,” said Daley. “The doctors, staff and thevolunteers work continually to assure that St. John residents are providedthe highest quality of emergency and health care. I am honored that theRiver Parishes Hospital Auxiliary has chosen to honor me for their annual scholarship fund raising dinner.””River Parishes Hospital is pleased that Judge Daley has agreed to participate in this event,” said Sean Roussel, Director of Marketing/PR for River Parishes Hospital. “He has given so much back to our community and hasserved as a great role model for our youth. It is quite fitting that he is thehonoree for a function that benefits our community’s youth. We couldn’t behappier to honor him as the community member of the year.”The function will be a standard roast format with six “roasters” telling tales and reminiscing about times with Judge Daley. The roasters for the eveningare Sheriff Wayne L. Jones, Harold Keller, Greg “Za” Maruin, JeffreyMontegut, Enid Poche Smith and Ron Troxler who will also serve as the emcee for the evening.
The roast will be held June 17 at 7 p.m. at the Bell Terre Country Club.Tickets for the event are $60 per couple and are available by contacting the River Parishes Hospital Marketing Department at 653-4247 or 651-1499.
