ARCENAUX PAULINA – Patricia Landry Arcenaux, 52, a native of Reserve and resident of Paulina, died May 3. She was the wife of Arthur “Jay” Arcenaux and motherof Randy and Ricky Arcenaux.
She was also the daughter of Ella Landry and the late Willie Landry and sister of Marena Stone and the late Gayle Landry.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina. Visitation is from 8 to 9:45 a.m.
BROWN VACHERIE – Hazel Weber Brown, 83, a native and resident of Vacherie, died May 2. She was the wife of the late Stanley Brown Sr. and mother of CarolynJasmin and the late Stanley Brown Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Meligan and Blanche Weber and the sister of Peter Weber and the late Eva Oubre and John, Matthew, Sidney, Robert and Ralph Weber She is also survived by three grandchildren and seven great-granchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip Catholic Church, Vacherie, withinterment in the church cemetery. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.
DAVIS GARYVILLE – Verlina Gail Scott Davis, 55, a lifelong resident of Garyville, died April 29. She was the wife of Clarence Davis Sr., mother of Joan BoldenPierre, Vincent, Michael, Cardell, Qunicy and Clarence Davis Jr. and guardianof Bridgette Williams.
She was also the daughter of Leona Scott Smith and sister of Walter, Ernest, George and Raymond Scott, Brenda Eugene, Patricia Watkins, Wilmer Scott and Joyce Williams.
She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Convent, withinterment at Buena Vista Baptist Church Cemetery, Lemonville. Visitationbegins at 9 a.m.
DERBIGNY LUTCHER – Julius Paul Derbigny, 73, a native of New Orleans and resident of Gramercy for many years, died May 3. He was the husband of TheresaDerbigny and father of Clarke, Curtis, Carlton and Carey Derbigny.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
He was a teacher, coach and principal at Lutcher High School and also was a coach at Sacred Heart School in Gramercy.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Gramercy, withinterment at St. Joseph’s Mausoluem, Paulina.
GROSS LAPLACE – Gregory Gross, 38, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Laplace for seven years, died April 26. He was the husband of Diane Gross and fatherof Rodrick and Marcus Bell and Ashanuta and Irionna Gross.
He was also the son of Mitchell Sr. and Ethel Mae Gross and brother ofMitchell Gross Jr., Audrey Michael, Ruby Lee Rixner, Joyce Knight, LorrainVictor, Janet Joseph, Linda Walters and Gloria and Anissa Gross.
Services are today at noon at Christian Assembly Full Gospel Church, Gonzales, with interment in the church’s cemetery.
JONES / DIXON GRAMERCY – Danielle Jones, 19, a native of Garyville and resident of Vallejo, Calif. for eight years, and her infant son Dakari Dixon died May 1. She wasthe daughter of Billy Joseph and Juanita Jones and step-daughter of John Fredricks. She was also the granddaughter of Elnora and Charles Freeman,Mable Taylor and Leola and Andrew Joseph.
She was also the sister of John Fredricks Jr., Shandrika Gordon and KevionaJones.
Services were held May 5 at True Light Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at St. John Cemetery, LaPlace.
VICKNAIR RESERVE – Martha Cox Duhe Vicknair, 101, a native and resident of Reserve, died May 2. She was the wife of the late Hypolite Duhe and Albert Vicknairand mother of Lorraine Cambre and Herman Duhe Sr.
She was also the daughter of the late Christopher Cox and Nellie Madere and sister of the late Samel and John Cox and Denise Hotard.
She is also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 5 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment in the church cememtery.
WILLIAMS GRAMERCY – Louisa Carrie Williams, 92, native of Burside and resident of Gramercy, died April 26. She was the wife of the late Alexander Williams Sr. and mother of Freedie and Larry Williams, Darlene Scott, Marva, Alma, and Vila Williams and the late Junius, Lawrence, Alexander, Clarence and Barry Williams and Lolita Washington.
She was also the daughter of the late Holland and Nancy Preston.
She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 110 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held on May 4 at the New Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at Western Cemetery, Lutcher.
