Lousteau saves UNO win

NEW ORLEANS – Riverside graduate Ryan Lousteau earned his first save for UNO as the Privateers snapped Louisiana-Lafayette’s 17-game winning streak, 4-3, at Privateer Park Saturday.

Lousteau, a natcive of Lutcher, pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, giving up one hit, no runs and no walks while striking out one. After giving up a lead-offdouble to Will Hawkins in the ninth, the senior retired the next three batters on fly balls to end the game. Lousteau saved the game for Shaylar Hatch whostruck out seven in a season-high 7 2/3 innings.

Lousteau has made eight appearnces this season, compiling a 3.68 earnedrun average and one save in 7 1/3 innings.

Louisiana-Lafayette, the eighth-ranked team in the country, took two-of- three from the Privateers over the weekend to improve to 8-1 in the Sun Belt Conference and 23-2 overall. UNO is now 5-3 in Sun Belt play and 14-8overall. The Privateers play host to Louisiana-Monroe tonight at PrivateerPark.
