Thousands of people go hungry each day. Hundreds of kids die because ofstarvation, but in America we are frequently complaining about what we have to eat. As I am writing this article I am hungry. I don’t feel like eating anything wehave at our house. Once again, I am taking for granted that we have food that hasbeen provided.

My mom has tried to get on a regular schedule for what we have for dinner each week. They are usually crazy ideas. I will now share what the latest dinner schedulewas like. We had “meaty Monday,” which consisted of some form of beef. Then wehad “taco Tuesday,” which was naturally tacos or sometimes fajitas. This wasfollowed by “hensday,” and, yes, that meant chicken on Wednesday. “TraditionalThursday” came next with red beans and sausage. My dad, who doesn’t eat beans,seemed to be gone a lot on Thursdays. Friday was pretty good because we all enjoyfried fish. But “surprise Saturday” was everybody’s least favorite because then weate leftovers from the previous week.

Then, finally, there was “souper Sunday,” with soup and homemade bread that night for dinner. My sister and I really enjoyed this list that my mom made up; but itlasted for about a month before we again began complaining about our meals.

Well, I guess what I am trying to say is that we should be glad that we have food.

We had wonderful homemade food and we complained at the end of the week because of “Left-over Saturday,” when we should have been glad that God provided food for us.

I’m really trying to get better about not complaining, but that doesn’t help the fact that I’m still hungry right now. Come to think of it, those leftovers are soundingbetter and better.
