CONTREARY

METAIRIE – June Marie Songy Contreary, 69, a native of Reserve and a resident of Metairie, died March 16. She was the wife of Harold J.Contreary and the mother of Dr. Kevin Contreary, Keith and Kerry Contrearyand Kathleen Soileau.

She was the daughter of the late Raphael Nemour Songy Sr. and NylefterPhilomene Gregoire Songy and the sister of Raphael Jr., Milton, Neil, Jamesand Lance Songy, Patricia Cheek, Rhoda Theard, Miram Keating and Margaret Taix.

She is survived by five grandchildren.

Services were held March 21 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home with interment at Lake Lawn Park.

DUFRENE

PARADIS – Ronnie Ann Cancienne Dufrene, 59, a native and resident of Paradis, died March 19. She was the wife of Donald Dufrene Sr. and motherof Donald Dufrene Jr., Donna Guice, Eva Comaradelle and Lori Insley.She was also the daughter of Josephine and Willie Cancienne and sister of Charles Cancienne and Brenda Naquin.

She is survived by 10 grandchildren.

Services were held March 21 at St. John the Baptist Church, Paradis, withinterment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Des Allemands.

DUHON

LUTCHER – Cole J. Duhon, 6 months, died March 17. He was the son of Lloyd”Charlie” and Gidget Meyer Duhon and brother of Chelsea, Drake and Taylor Duhon.

He was also the grandson of Raymond and June Laiche and Marilyn Duhon and the great-grandson of Elodee Duhon and Margie Roussel.

Services were held March 20 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Chapel, Lutcher, with entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

MITCHELL

BATON ROUGE – Marie Barbara Mitchell, 58, a native and resident of St.

James Parish, died March 18. She was the wife of John Mitchell andmother of Roxanne Darensburg and Stacie Mitchell.

She was also the daughter of the late Willie and Maude Lemieux and the sister of Doris, Donald, Willie Jr. and Ronald Lemieux.She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church withentombment in the church mausoleum.

ROUSSEL

LUTCHER – Dean Edgar Roussel, 48, a native and resident of Lutcher, died March 14. He was the husband of Ester Dunn Roussel.He was also the son of Edgard Jr. and Melanie Roussel and the brother ofStephany Bourgeois, Melissa Manning and Dawn Roussel.

Services were held March 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoluem.

SCHEXNAYDRE

ST. ROSE – Eve Louise Landry Schexnaydre, 62, a native and resident of St.Rose, died died March 16. She was the wife of the late ThaddeusSchexnaydre and mother of Denise Dupre and James Schexnaydre.

She was also the daughter of the late Venon and Anne Landry and the sister of Shirley Cambre and the late Thomas Landry.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were held March 18 at the First Baptist Church, Luling, with a private interment.
