COLEMAN RESERVE – Williemenia Stewart “Ma Mean” Coleman, 79, a native and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 18. She was the wife of the late Doyle Coleman andmother of Mary Lee Sheppard, Gail Hayes, Ruth, Ruby, Dianne, Doyle, Clayton, Chester and Samson Coleman.
She was also the sister of Nellie Mae Maker and the late Samuel, Frank, Sylvester, Sandy Miles and Adam Noel.
She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sevengrandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, Reserve, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
CONNER BRADENTON, Fla. – Martha Carol Philip Conner, 63, a native of Vacherie, long-time resident of Wisconsin and resident of Bradenton, Fla., for two years,died Feb. 15. She was the wife of Frank Conner and mother of Carmen Postand Craig Conner.
She was also the sister of Karen Morris, Wanda Jacob, Katie Pierce and Gerald, Carl and Bervick Philip.
Services were held Feb. 19 in Bradenton, with interment at ManasotaMemorial Park, Bradenton.
PEEL LAPLACE – Carolyn C. Peel, 49, a native of New Orleans and resident ofLaPlace for 17 years, died Feb. 22. She was the daughter of Frances Peeland the late Robert Peel, and sister of Debera Mora, Pamela Abt, Cullen Peel, and the late Rebecca Roth.
Memorial services were held Feb. 25 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church,LaPlace.
RICHARD NORCO – Catherine Raiche Richard, 90, a native of Morgan City and resident of Norco for 68 years, died Feb. 23. She was the wife of the late ManselRichard and mother of Emily Zeringue and Harriet Williamson.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was a Destrehan High School teacher for 37 years, a volunteer librarian for Sacred Heart School for 23 years and a 4-H Club leader for 45 years.
She was also a recipient of the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Order of St.
Louis Medallion.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church,Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
RICHARME METAIRIE – Irving Joseph “Buddy” Richarme, 81, a native of Gramercy and resident of Metairie for 52 years, died Feb. 20. He was the husband of EvelynSan Salvadore Richarme and father of Sylvia Otillio and Cynthia Steudlein.
He was also the brother of Lloyd Richarme.
He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Feb. 23 at Garden of Memories Cemetery,Metairie.
STEIN RESERVE – Mabel S. Stein, 75, a native and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 23.She was the wife of Joseph Stein and mother of Michael, Joseph Jr., Kennethand Gary Stein.
She was also the daughter of the late Flagile and Anita Schexnayder and sister of Alma LeBlanc, Marguerite Gautreaux, Thelma Boe, Nolan Schexnayder and the late Dorothy Chauvin and Walter, Flagile, Claude, Norbert, Herman and Larry Schexnayder.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Services are today at noon at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
SUMMERS NORCO – Lewis I. Summers, 82, a native of Spokane, Wash., and resident ofNorco, died Feb. 22. He was the husband of Ann K. Summers and father ofRhonda Weber, Kathy Ayme and Christina Babin.
He was also the son of the late Thomas and Ivy Summers and brother of Olene Hunter, Norman Perry and Arthur Summers.
He is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 24 in the chapel of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home,Norco, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
VICE RESERVE – Cecilia Triche Vice, a native and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 22.She was the wife of the late Rene Vice and mother of Sheldon Vice.
She was also the daughter of the late Andrien and Amelia Triche and sister of the late Herminie Duhe, Leoncia Klibert, Aileen Leger and Arthur, Maurice, Charles and Alcee Triche.
She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 24 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, withinterment at the church cemetery.
