Have you ever been shopping with someone for something but they can’t decide what they want? For example, they like this certain shoe because it is comfortable, but they like this other shoe because of the looks.
Well, that is what some people do with God. They want to be with God andat the same time want to be in the world. These two are completelyopposite and do not go together.
Two Corinthians 6:14 says this… “For what do righteousness andwickedness have in common?” Ask yourself that question. The answer is they have nothing in common.
You can serve God or reject Him. Choose today what decision you willmake. Two Corinthians 6:17-18 says, “Therefore come out from them andbe separate says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing and I will receive you. Iwill be a Father to you and you will be my sons and daughters says the Lord Almighty.”We have a free will. God has given us the freedom to choose. He reminds usthat we are in the world, but should not be of the world. If we choose tofollow Him we are to be the light of the world. We should never beashamed of our decision.
GEOFFREY MICHEL, a local teen-ager, writes this column regularly for L’Observateur.
