Harvey man murdered at grandmother’s house

LULING – A Harvey man was shot to death Tuesday in the predawn hours at a house on Paul Maillard Road, marking the first homicide in St. CharlesParish of the new year.
Detectives from the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office are asking the public tohelp in the investigation.
Capt. Patrick Yoes reported that Marlon Sandolph, 23, 3912 Bayou OaksDrive, was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at 4:30 a.m. at1350 Paul Maillard Road. The house is across the street from the LulingPost Office.
A friend of Sandolph noticed the door of the residence to be open. Yoessaid Sandolph’s grandmother, the owner of the house, was hospitalized at the time and Sandolph was house-sitting.
When the friend checked inside the residence he found Sandolph lying dressed on the living room floor. The room showed signs of a struggle,Yoes said, but he couldn’t say if there was evidence of the number of intruders. No one else was inside the residence when Sandolph was found.Yoes continued that Sandolph was last seen at midnight at a nearby convenience store, and neighbors apparently saw and heard nothing.
No motive was speculated upon by Yoes, who added the victim did have a juvenile record but did not state the nature of those offenses.
