DESTREHAN – A transition team chairman to help bring about a smooth change over to the Albert Laque administration in St. Charles Parish wasnamed Monday.

P. Joseph Murray III, a local businessman and resident of Destrehan, wasnamed to the position. Murray will be responsible for appointingcommittee chairs, scheduling and any other functions to make the transition run smoothly.

“We just want to make sure everything is right,” Laque commented. “I’msure that Mr. Tregre will work along with me.”The team will review parish departments, contracts and pending litigation to come up to speed when his administration takes over on Jan. 10.”I don’t want to be blindsided later,” Laque added.
