BLACKMORE NEW SARPY – Steve Blackmore, a native of Garyville and resident of New Sarpy, died Nov. 27. He was the husband of Marline Aubert Blackmore andfather of Theodore Collins Sr., Steven, Anthony and Jessie Lee Walker,Bruce Butler, Cynthia Coleman, Sandra Quetant, Catherine Long and Vanessa and Ella Mae Walker.

He was also the son of the late Sylva Haze and Lynch Blackmore.

He is also survived by 42 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 3 at St. Matthew Baptist Church, New Sarpy, withinterment at New Sarpy Cemetery.

BYRD BOUTTE – Lori Jackson Byrd, 33, a native of Garyville and a resident of Harvey, died Nov. 27. She was the wife of Juan Anthony Byrd and mother ofJalen Alexander and Olivia and Juan Byrd II.

She was also the daughter of Millie Wright and John Jackson and sister of Michael, Karen, Joycelyn, Eric, John Jr. and Greg Jackson.Services were held Dec. 3 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Boutte, withinterment at the church cemetery.

CLARK MT. AIRY – Earl “Goodman” Clark, 76, a native of Mt. Airy and a resident ofHammond, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of the late Zelma L. Clark andfather of Orena Clark.

He was also the son of the late Henry Sr. and Henrietta Clark and brotherof Edna Dickerson, Henrietta Tassin, Eddie, Ervin, Virvin and Norwood Clark and the late Henry Jr. and Leon Clark.Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, withinterment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 9a.m.

DOMINGUE NORCO – Georgiana Williams Johnson Domingue, 79, a native of Clinton and a resident of Norco, died Nov. 28. She was the wife by first marriage ofthe late Peter Johnson and by second marriage of the late Andrew Domingue and step-mother of Audrey Evans and Johnny and Andrew Domingue Jr.

She was also the daughter of the late Lillie Erwin and Willie Williams and step-sister of Bernice Miles.

She is also survived by step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco,with interment at Montz Memorial Park. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

JOSEPH GARYVILLE – Sister Odeal Joseph, 88, a native and resident of Garyville, died Nov. 30. She was the wife of the late Charlie Joseph.She was also the daughter of the late Fred and Ernestine Sarah and sister of Ernestine, Annie, Opheah, Genevive, Thomas, Charlie and Morris Joseph.

Services are today at noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church No. 2 in Garyville,with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 11a.m.

KING LIONS – Irma King, 59, a native of St. James and a resident of Reserve,died Nov. 30. She was the wife of Raymond King and mother of JenniferScofield, Catina Carter and Roosevelt, Kenneth, Juanita, Cheryl, Melissa, Lisa, David, Leonard, Trenika and Betty King.

She was also the daughter of the late George and Alice Greenup and sister of Elise Cook, Barbara Braxton, Glenda Kendrick, Roy London, Rosemary, William, Julius, Earl and Wilfred Greenup and the late Joyce, Sarah, George, Edward, Clarence Greenup.

She is also survived by 31 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, Lions, withinterment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

LAFAUCI-BAKER METAIRIE – Rene Oubre Lafauci-Baker, 86, a native of Vacherie and a resident of New Orleans and Metairie for many years, died Nov. 26. Shewas the wife by first marriage of the late Pascal Lafauci and by second marriage of Rudolph Baker, mother of Barbara Lafauci-Williams and the late Ina Lafauci-Hutchinson and step-mother of Joyce Paretti and Rudy “Buddy,” Tommy, Albert, John and Henry Baker.

She was also the sister of Palmyre Arabie.

She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 2 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home,Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories.

LAQUE HOUMA – Jeff Laque Jr., 68, a native of Boutte and a resident of Gray, diedNov. 29. He was the husband of Pamelia Gentry Laque and father of PameliaCurry, Tenna Bergeron, Sheila Cheramie, Debora Foret and Louis Jeffries Laque III.

He was also the son of the late Louis Jeffries Laque Sr. and Inez MarieBabin Laque and brother of Janice Donnelly, Albert Laque and the late Inez “Sue” McIntire.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Laque was a former member and president of the Terrebonne Parish School Board and one of the founding fathers of Vandebilt Catholic High School. Hewas also quite active in the Knights of Columbus and, in 1992, became only the fourth layman to receive the Past State Deputy Award.

Services were held Dec. 2 at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, Houma, withinterment at the church cemetery.

LIVINGS LAPLACE – John D. Livings, 83, a native of Mississippi and a resident ofLaPlace for 42 years, died Dec. 2. He was the father of J. Stanley andThomas Livings.

He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.

NOEL NEW ORLEANS – Claire Duhe Noel, 90, a native of Luling and a resident of New Orleans for 85 years, died Nov. 29. She was the mother of ReneeWenzel, Maris Dean, Russell and Bruce Roeling and Spencer and Elroy Noel.

She was also the sister of Alice, Yvonne and Eugene Duhe.

She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 1 at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church,New Orleans, with interment at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 2.

OUBRE DESTREHAN – Roger B.A. Oubre, 86, a native of Vacherie and a resident ofNew Sarpy for 54 years, died Dec. 1. He was the husband of RosiemaClouate Oubre and father of Darlene Oubre and the late Barry J. Oubre Sr.He was also the son of the late Edgar and Zeolide Kliebert Oubre and brother of Laura Schexnayder and the late Georgina Kliebert and Edgar, George, Edmond Sr., Horace Sr., Adam and Alben Oubre.He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts at9:30 a.m.

POCHE CONVENT – Margaret Roussel “Maggie” Poche, 70, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Hester, died Nov. 30. She was the wife of Allen J. PocheSr. and mother of Gwen Bourgeois and Robbie Sr. and Allen Poche Jr.She was also the daughter of Myrtle “Myrt” Matherne Roussel and the late Robley Roussel Sr. and sister of Robley “Bobby” Roussel Jr.She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 3 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church,Convent, with interment at the church mausoleum.

TAYLOR ST. ROSE – Harold Taylor Sr., 83, a native of New Orleans and a resident ofSt. Rose, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of Beatrice Taylor and father ofMargaret Vinnett, Yolanda Fagan, Karen Isaac, Paula, Mary, Priscilla, Harold Jr. and Robert Taylor and the late Crystal Lewis.He was also the son of the late Lizzie Royal and Isom Taylor and brother of Variniece Brown, Eliza James, Edward Taylor Sr. and the late Adonia andFlorine Vinnet, Lizzie Harris, Mable Ursin and Gertrude, Victor, Isom Jr.

and Herbert Taylor.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at Fifth African Baptist Church, St. Rose,with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose. Visitation startsat 9 a.m.

THOMPSON NEW ORLEANS – Percy “P.T.” Thompson, 94, a native of Convent and aresident of New Orleans for 85 years, died Nov. 30. He was the husband ofthe late Ada Mae Thompson and father of Landa Bunch and Ronald and Darrell Thompson.

He was also the son of the late Gabriel Thompson, step-son of the late Aline M. Thompson and brother of Beulah Block, Hilda Jordan, Alice Landryand the late Melvin Nelson, Freddie Thompson, Ovelia Fobb and Theresa Dennis.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

TRUMBATURI KENNER – Rose Margaret Trumbaturi, 77, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Destrehan for 12 years, died Nov. 30. She was the mother ofEmile and Ronald Garlepied.

She was also the daughter of the late Bazile and Carmella Palazzo Trumbaturi and sister of Camille Brown, Anna Miceli, Anthony and Joseph Trumbaturi and the late Catherine Laumann and Mary Will.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 3 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan.

WILLIAMSON NEW ORLEANS – Sister Mary George Williamson, O.P., 86, a native ofGramercy and a resident of New Orleans for 55 years, died Nov. 30. Shewas the daughter of the late George and May Boutte Williamson and sister of Audrey Schneider and the late Mrs. Wilbur Tolusso, Mrs. Harold Oursoand George, Farol and Clifton Williamson.

She was the former Myrtis Marie Williamson and was in the 54th year of her religious profession.

Since taking her vows as a Dominican sister, she taught school in Paulina, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Reserve. She also served as Prioress ofRosaryville and worked at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse in Ponchatoula and at St. Mary’s Dominican College.Services were held Dec. 2 in the chapel of Dominican Sisters Motherhouse,New Orleans, with interment at the Dominican Sisters Cemetery, Ponchatoula.
