Hurricane season has come and gone without incident affecting south Louisiana and we’ve missed the bullet for another year, giving us something to be thankful for and to help boost this current holiday season.
There are so many things to be thankful for – a hopeful turnaround for the besieged LSU football team, no storm damage, the end of the election season – and time to usher in a time of changes.
The millennium season is hot upon us, with the last-minute preparations for 2000 in full swing. Some people are planning a blow-out party andothers are preparing for computer crashes and still others are preparing for the “End Time.” No matter what happens, it will all be over in a matterof weeks now and we should simply all prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Meanwhile, the holiday shopping season is also in full charge – and charge is the word, as Christmas shopping has many overextending their credit lines.
So, it’s time for some advice. Watch your spending. Y2K may catch up withyour credit lines. Watch your drinking. Most of you should set good examples to the young. Watch your behavior. This might BE the End Time. All in all, there is much we should all be grateful for, so let’s behave that way. Be good to one another and also watch that holiday stress, which does no one any good.
And let’s be careful out there.
