2 incumbent councilmen ousted in St. James

CONVENT – There were only two run-off elections in St. James Parish forseats on the parish council, and in both races, the incumbents lost.

In Council District 3, newcomer and Agrico employee, Wilson F. MalbroughJr. got 57 percent of the vote, or 691 votes, to beat out 12-year incumbentEric Poche, who got 43 percent, or 513 votes.

In the Council District 5 race, James Mitchell garnered 57 percent, or 520 votes, to oust incumbent Oliver B. Cooper Sr., who got 43 percent, or 389votes.
