ACOSTA RESERVE – Marie Delhommer Acosta, 39, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Oct. 10. She was the wife of Chad Acosta and mother of Jared, Ashley and the late Jonathan Louque.

She was the daughter of Helen Delhommer and the late Joseph Delhommer and sister of Jo Ann Madere, Donna Alison and Elizabeth Clement.

Services were held Oct. 13 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

ALEXANDER GRAMERCY – Kermit Joseph “Doc” Alexander, 28, a native and resident of Gramercy, died Oct. 8. He was the father of Keonte and DeTrae Alexander.He was the son of Prescott and Ernestine Clayton Alexander and brother of Dionne, Ivy, Crystal and Craig Alexander.

He was the grandson of Ernest Clayton Sr. and the late Louizer Keys andClayton, John Sr. and Eva Sally Johnson.Services were held Oct. 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy,with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.

GRUNTZ DESTREHAN – Angela “Angie” Gruntz, 36, a native and resident of St. Rose,died Oct. 12. She ws the wife of Alphonse “Dobie” Gruntz and mother ofAlex Gruntz.

She was also the granddaughter of John Barbara and the late Regina Vicknair Barbara.

Services were held Oct. 13 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, withinterment at the church mausoleum.

HOTARD METAIRIE – Antoine F.J. Hotard, 80, a native of Edgard and a resident ofMetairie for 53 years, died Oct. 14. He was the husband of Harriet BickhamHotard and father of Lillian Beachler, Antoinette Weatherly and A. Michael,Julie and Rhonda Hotard.

He was also the son of the late Lionel and Elvina Hymel Hotard and brother of Lorraine Bradley, Rose Barrilleaux and Aubrey, Clayton, Percy, Lionel Jr., Stephen, Elmo and Daniel Hotard.He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of L.A. MuhleisenFuneral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

McCOY MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Elnora Payton McCoy, 86, a native of Memphis, Tenn., anda resident of Lutcher for 44 years, died Oct. 6. She was the wife of thelate Willie McCoy and mother of Ada Pernell and Mary Ann Jackson.

She was also the daughter of the late Austin and Emma Payton and sister of Sam Payton.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 13 at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Memphis, withinterment at the church cemetery.

SAMUEL EDGARD – Steve Samuel, 81, a native of Edgard and a resident of Bridge City, died Oct. 11. He was the father of Brenda Hebert, Betty and AnthonySamuel and step-father of John Stanford Jacob and the late Edward Joseph.

He was the son of the late Adele Batiste.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist CatholicChurch, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation beginsat 8 a.m.
