NARCISSE EDGARD – Rachel Williams Narcisse, 86, a native and resident of Edgard, died Sept. 16. She was the wife of the late Victore Narcisse and mother ofGloria Howard, Linda Narcisse and the late Herbert and Herman Narcisse.
She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Ammontine Williams and sister of Beatrice Vallery and the late Lawrence, Joseph and Fresher Williams.
She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 20 at Greater New St. Peter Baptist Church,Edgard, with interment at Young Cemetery, Edgard.
RABORN DENHAM SPRINGS – Olive Barrow Raborn, 78, a native of Plaquemine and a resident of LaPlace, died Sept. 18. She was the wife of 32 years of JosephRaborn Sr. and mother of Sylvia Alonzo, Kathleen McLean, Richard Rabornand the late Joseph Raborn Jr.
She was also the daughter of the late Franklin and Olive Devillier Barrow and sister of Norma Guss, Mamie Sevier, Joseph, Emile, Ervin and Ernest Barrow and the late Wilma Raborn and Laura, Logan, Frank, Clifton and Morris Barrow.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 21 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,Denham Springs, with interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge.
SCOTT GARYVILLE – Helen Scott, 81, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Sept. 16. She was the daughter of the late Carrie West and Valerie Bush.She is also survived by numerous relatives, including Lena West, Monica Simmons and Myrtle and Allen Lennix Jr.
Services were held Sept. 21 in the chapel of Earl Baloney and SonsMortuary, Garyville, with interment at Providence Cemetery, LaPlace.
STEIB VACHERIE – Gosilia Isom Steib, 60, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Sept. 18. She was the wife of the late Joseph Calvin Steib and mother ofColleen Hurst and Jo-Ann, Jennifer, Aleitha, Joseph Jr. and Brian Steib.She was also the daughter of the late Albertha Lemieux and Eli Isom and sister of Eloise Bartholomew Louvinia Dumas, Henry and Joseph Isom and the late Agnes Tassin, Helen Nelson, Theresa Oubre and Raymond Isom.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, SouthVacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8a.m.
