BROWN

MARRERO – Johnnie J. Brown, 59, a native of DeRidder and a resident ofLuling for 30 years, died Sept. 4. He was the husband of Cecile AshworthBrown and father of Janet Medina and Steven Brown.

He was also the son of Eloise Hendriz and the late Clarence Brown and brother of Larry Brown.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 7 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero,with interment at Old Cypress Cemetery, DeRidder.

FORBES

ALGIERS – Benjamin Bermond Forbes Sr., 90, a native of Luling and aresident of Algiers for many years, died Sept. 1. He was the father ofLaVetta King, Gloria Henry and Pearl Chaffers.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, Algiers, withinterment at McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.

VICKNAIR

LAPLACE – Marie Antoinette “Nanette” Vicknair, 72, a native and resident of Montz, died Sept. 2. She was the wife of the late Elmo J. Vicknair andmother of Elizabeth, Wayne and Kim Vicknair.

She was also the sister of Paul Duhe.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 6 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace,with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
