CHAPOTON PAULINAMalcolm Joseph Chapoton, 89, a native of Garyville and a resident of Gramercy, died Aug. 4. He was the husband of Denise BrockChapoton and father of Patricia Duhe and Malcolm Jr. and Conrad Chapoton.He was also the son of the late Alfred and Pauline Naquin Chapoton and brother of Emily Becnel, the late Maude Roth and Milton, Conrad and Alfred Chapoton Jr.

He was a Godchaux Sugar retiree.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 6 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Vacherie.

ESTAY LULINGAlbert Joseph Estay, 84, a native and resident of Luling, died Aug. 3. He was the husband of Mathilde Gassen Estay and father of Iris EstayMoreau.

He was also the son of the late Louis Estay and Anita Estay Hebert and half-brother of Rene Hebert and Marjorie H. Acosta.He is also survived by three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Starand was also a Monsanto retiree.

Services were held Aug. 5 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling,with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.EVANS GARYVILLEOscar Joseph Evans, 54, a native and resident of Reserve, died Aug. 4. He was the husband of the late Agnes Evans and father ofPamela Baham, Demetris Johnson and Tanya, Stephanie, Troy, Oscar, and the late Tabitha Evans.

He was also the son of Beatrice Evans and the late Oscar Evans and the brother of Debra Warren, Barbara Mixon and Edward and Rankin Evans.

He is also survived by 17 grandchildren.

Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Earl Baloney and SonsMortuary, Garyville, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

Visitation starts at 8 a.m.FELTON CONVENTLarry Felton Sr., 48, a native and resident of Convent, died Aug.3. He was the husband of Vivian Nicholas Felton and father of DeAnnaThomas and Larry Jr. and Patrick Felton.He was also the son of the late Ellis and Victoria Felton, the brother of Alma Lymon, Albert, Lionel Sr., Johnel Sr. and Lawrence Felton Sr. and thelate Louis and Ellis Johnson.

He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Convent,with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.HARRY VACHERIESilvain “Russel” Harry, 79, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Aug. 2. He was the father of Theresa Bartholomew, Mary Jessie andPhyllis, Cassandra, Joseph, Robert, Lionel and Whitney Harry.

He was also the brother of Amie Chopin, Esther Williams, Eva and Anita Batiste, Milton Sr. and Herbert Harry Sr.He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation starts at 8a.m.MICHEL RESERVEMarie Norbertile Oubre Michel, 96, a native of Vacherie, former resident of Garyville and resident of Reserve for five years, died Aug. 4.She was the wife of the late Anthony Michel Sr., the mother of RowenaDuhe, Anna Cox, Mary Audiffred, Irma Matherne, Edwin and Johnny Michel, the late Eva Troxler, Irene Cross, Alvin, Leroy and Anthony Michel Jr. andthe step-mother of Edna Kliebert and the late Cecile LaCroix and Edward Michel.

She was also the daughter of the late Louis and Irma Stein Oubre and sister of Blanche Kugler and the late Sedonia Michel and Octave, Oneil, Murpy and Leonia Oubre.

She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, a number of great-great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 6 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.ORGERON PORT SULPHUREdna Barrios Orgeron, 91, a native of St. James Parish anda resident of Port Sulphur for 59 years, died Aug. 2. She was the wife ofthe late Ernest Orgeron and mother of Marie Fischtziur and Betty Holley.

She was also the daughter of the late Lee and Clelie Scioneaux Barrios.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held Aug. 6 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Port Sulphur,with interment at the church cemetery.

PUISSEGUR KENNERScott Joseph Puissegur, 27, a native of Metairie and a lifelong resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 3. He was the husband of Rachelle AnneDufresne Puissegur and father of Alexis Olivia Puissegur.

He was also the son of Terry and Phyllis Reese Puissegur and grandson of Joseph and Dorothy Reese, Margie Blanchard Puissegur and the late Edwin Puissegur.

Services were held Aug. 6 in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son FuneralHome, Kenner, with interment at Lake Lawn Cemetery.

SANDERS BOGALUSAStella Jones Sanders, 81, a native of Zoma, lifelong resident of Bogalusa, and resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 1. She was the wife of thelate H. Earl Sanders and mother of Betty Sue Franson and Edward Sanders.She was also the daughter of the late Edward and Ardell George Jones and the sister of Bennie Jones and the late Florence Jenkins and Bill Jones.

She is also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services were held Aug. 4 in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home,Bogalusa, with interment at Spencer Cemetery, Enon.

WILLIAMS DES ALLEMANDSEthel Mott Williams, 78, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died July 31. She was the wife of the late Clarence Williamsand mother of Eugene Williams.

She was also the daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Lillie K. Mott and thesister of Luzetta Parker, Gladys, Albert Sr. and Sidney Mott Sr. and thelate Rosalee Williams, Leona Colbert, Mary Bolden, Delia Hall and Joseph Mott Jr.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 6 at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, withinterment at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.

WILLIAMS EDGARDGustavia “Gus” Johnson Williams, 57, a native of Edgard and a resident of Vacherie, died Aug. 1. She was the wife of the Rev. ClarenceWilliams and mother of Maxine Roussell and Hernita, Charlene, Jerry, Carl and Brandon Williams.

She was also the daughter of the late Ernest and Pearl Johnson, the sister of Loucrecia Foster and Yvonne, Earl and Lawrence Johnson.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 6 at Second African Baptist Church, Edgard, withinterment at Young Cemetery, Edgard.
